Ian and his men were given the co-ordinates. As they had to prepare an ambush in just a short time, they racked their brains thinking of a way to trap them and hold them off.
Atlast, they decided to go all out and lay whatever traps they could think of.
On the other side, Roger and Ansem were looking around.
"Our bombs were to set off in two hours after we came. Seems like it was all disabled when we came in", Lan reported. His computer was taken away but he had another mini device hehe.
Rick rummaged his clothes as if searching for something. Everyone was looking at him. He fished out a small square thing. He had a big smile on his face and heaved a huge sigh.
"What is that?", one of them tried to take it away. Rick shoved his hand away
"Remember i told you i went to the arsenal? I picked up a special edition detonator. This is it. I just thought of bringing it just in case",he smiled.
Lan went up to him and took it from.away brushing his fingers. Rick felt shivers and quickly submitted the detonator in his hands to Lan. His ears went red. Everyone saw that except Lan who was busy examining it.
"Great! It's an 8 mile radius detonator ...perfect to blow up this whole headquarters. You've got good eyes, Rick", Lan praised him.
Rick, " T-Thank you"
Lan turned to him and kept staring
"W-what is it?", Rick was fully red by now
"You need a code to start it. Do you know it?"
"..."
"Let it be, i'll see what i can do"
As that was done, most of the men outside had been taken out stealthily and silently by the other team members. The people left were not that strong. They had no weapons so they could only substitute the weapons the men had for their weapons for now and go to where Ian and his men were waiting.
As for the ambush, they had successfully blocked all four of the vehicles.
They actually used spike strips to stop the first vehicle and since it was a one way road in the middle of the jungle all of the remaining vehicles had to stop too. All of the men had gotten out from the vehicles and were looking around. It had to be the work of someone. They knew they would encounter some difficulties on the way but didn't expect to have met it so soon.
While in the inside, Lucas' face was dark. He loved manipulating and playing with people from the dark but now he was the one who was being played with. He was in the light while his ambushers were in the dark. He hated this. He had a gut feeling that it won't be any good.
Ian and his men had camouflage on...and some were high up in the trees while some were in the bushes, on the ground. Their perfect and stance were perfect to blend in with the surroundings. Since Lucas' men did not have much sharp eyes like that of the military, they could only look closely and give up at last.
One by one, the men standing around the vehicle were shot down. One couldn't find out the person who had shot them since bullets were coming from all directions and the guns they used were fitted with silencers making them more hard to predict.
In total, there were 18 men without the three bigshots. Twelve of them had climbed down and now only five of them were left standing.
The seven men together with Ian had shot down one each.
From behind the vehicles, they could hear people coming with their guns pointed at them. It was Roger's and Ansem's team.
"Get out, all of you", Roger smiled at them.
There were eleven of them left with three people inside the vehicle.
All of them stepped out and stood facing them. Ian's men had also come out. Lucas and the other two beside him were surprised seeing only seven men step out from their camouflage. He smiled at them too.
"We can't let you go, you know that very well. So we plan to take you back to our base. You have been outnumbered. No matter what kind of hideous tricks you use, it's useless."
That being said, Lan curbed all functioning devices within the radius of 4 miles.
"Come on, people ...bargaining with you all won't work so why not fight it out?", Lucas smiled.
"We aren't falling for your trap. Get the vehicles. We have to move out now."
"Ansem, i want to fight you!", Lucas continued without minding what the other said.
Ansem's father also looked at him as if he was going to watch something amusing. Well, you can't let him down so, Ansem nodded.
"What are you doing, Ansem?!", Roger asked.
"Relax, we have them now. They are not going anywhere. They know better than to deceive us."
Seeing him so confident, he could only stop hesitating but he still had a lingering feeling that this Lucas would do something out of ordinary. But again, who was Lucas? He was a mastermind if he didn't do something out of ordinary, he would have changed his name a thousand times already.
