Trial

Everybody was laying low for now, like the calm before the storm.

During these times, both parties were preparing heavily for their comeback. It would surely be a show to watch hehe.

Since all was calm for now, the HQ thought they would feign ignorance and try to go on about their lives while also preparing well and keeping a vigil on every suspect. They decided to hold the trial for Mr. Daniel Vaughlan.

"Hey, please don't ignore me. I-", Rick came up to Lan. When Lan was about to turn away, he stopped abruptly as he felt somehow guilty abput the way he had been acting and hearing those words...ignore, he felt guilty so he stopped.

He turned aroung and saw Rick gazing deep into his eyes searching for something. He felt as if Rick could see through him with that stare.

"Lan, I-I'm sorry. I know i did wrong but please understand me...it's because i realised my feelings for you. I really really love you, Lan. And you know that too! ", Rick said.

Lan looked at him,"I know Rick, I know. I like you too but please give me some time.."

Give me some time?! Ha! As if. Before he could finish the words, Rick had already pounched on him hugging him tightly as soon as he heard the first words.

Lan couldn't continue and sensing the Alpha's scent, he breathed in and just returned the hug, which made the later go crazy.

"L-lan, please trust in me. I am not like those other Alphas! I love you and i shall truly make you see that! I will cherish you all my life and if ..if anything happens, you can beat me all you want. Anything for you!", Rick said while still hugging his beloved in his arms. He was too happy.

Lan just smiled at his words. That's not gonna happen i know cuz Rick is not like other Alphas, he said in his mind. He couldn't say that out loud cuz who knows what the other would do hehe.

Rick tore away from the hug and gave a kiss on the Omega's forehead...a sign of affection and cherishing.

"Thank you, Lan. I promise you i will be for you and be with you for a lifetime and the next!!", he hugged him again.

Lan felt warm in his chest, he liked the feeling. That feeling was something only Rick could give him, he was now more surerthan even that Rick was his destined partner!

Court---

"The case of Mr. Daniel Vaughlan shall commence"

Everyone was present on the court that day. Laura, Mia, Gordon and the now-well Setzer.

Ansem, Amber, Roger and Alan was sitted on the other side.

The trial had now officially begun.

"Daniel Vaughaln has been sentenced to 5 years in prison and 2 years probation."

That was a reduced sentence for his willingness to confess many other dark secrets about the Kraits.

Not everyone was happy. The netizens whose family had suffered great lose were of course in an uproar. How could he get only 7 years imprisonment, he should be hanged to death for what he had done. He took away all those lives!

Many were complaining as they were not satisfied with the result and people started boycotting the Vaughlan Corps, anywhere which was associated with the Vaughlan name. They did all this since they did not know the whole story, they had blamed everything on Daniel Vaughlan. Little did they know.

So the higher decided to release the real news as they were going to know about it sooner or later.

The military officials realsed a brief forum on the net and all the netizens died down.

Many were shamed to death as they had resort to petty means in order to gain the so called ' justice '.

Daniel bade farewell to his family and went away happily not the least bit scared or depressed.

"I deserved this. It is karma. I will come out soon as a better man. A better husband, a better father and a better brother", he said smiling at his family while still at the wheelchair.

As he was being pushed out, at the corner of the court room, he spotted a lady looking at him. She had grey hairs now yet her facial features and expressions were still of her youth. She carried a dignified air around her and she was staring at her son on a wheelchair.

Daniel pushed himself towards his mother. Seeing her looking at him and not avoiding him, he felt great courage and pushed himself harder. The person who was incharge of him was wonderstruck but followed seeing the scene. The others followed him too.

"Mother," he called out.

Grandma was staring at him and then looked at the ceiling trying very hard as the two drops of tears on her eyes were about to fall.

"Mother i am sorry. I will surely come back and be the son whom you longed for. I promise you", Daniel said slowly looking at his mother with all smiles.

"Come back soon. I will be waiting", as she replied that, two big fat tears swooped down her face and onto the ground.

No one, i bet no one had ever seen the dignified Mrs. Vaughlan cry like that. No one!

The people behind were already crying hard. Amber was in the arms of Ansem who was coaxing her very hardly. Everyone was red eyed if not crying. Even some passerbys couldn't help but feel sympathy.

After all was said and done, everywhere was peace now. That peace won't be long now, better enjoy it.
