Shadow

The down-to-earth tea lover Roger raised his eyebrows when he saw Ansem giving the tea to Lucas. He felt that his little brother was up to something...yes he was teasing that's all. These brothers have a really weird sense when they are about to do something exciting.

Haish tsk tsk brothers....

Ansem then sat down in front of his brother again.

"Lucas, what do you want?", he said slowly looking at him.

Lucas then put down his tea and looked at him,"Hehe, a WAR...if i was just any person i would have let you go but you see i am a Devon. I can't let you go so peacefully else i would be the shame of the Devon family"

Gordon nodded his head in deep brooding.

Setzer, Mia and Laura knew not to speak up and meddle in their business so they kept quiet in tacit understanding and watched the scenes slowly being played out.

Lucas continued,"June the 15th towards the dusk, you captured me and my men as we were going to deliver that virus. You captured uus, blew up my headquarters and yes you achieved victory. But Ansem, did you find anything in the vehicle? I bet its just some chemicals and all....not the VIRUS!"

Ansem's face darkened, that was his biggest regret, but the officers did not give much thought to it.

Ansem was proven correct when that virus appeared in the black market and was putup for auction.

"Well, because of the military getting involved and all, most of the buyers did not dare take the risk so my men just put it up for auction in the black market. Who would have thought that the infamous Shadow would have bought it that too for 1.5 billion dollars. Haha, a pity i couldn't see him. Well he didn't come, he is too much of an enigma for that", Lucas blabbered on about how great Shadow was.

Shadow was a very anonymous person who had entered the dark world just 7 years ago yet he had already overturned the world and had made most of the leaders of many organisations his ally. He actually has power, he has not done anything that is wrong in the eye of the law, such a mystery.

While Lucas said that, Ansem's expressions faltered for a while bit soon turned indifferent but you could still see the surprise in his eyes.

While Gordon, his face darkened. He has finished his tea by now so he could only listen to this God- forsaken story.

"Well well we better go. Rene brother must be waiting for you", Lucas then said happily.

Laura, Mia and Setzer were locked inside their own house with Lucas' men outside to guard them.

Lucas with some of his men, Roger and Ansem drove off to meet Rene.

As for the soldiers who were still behind..

"Half of you will follow Lucas. Half of us will stay back here and will provide backup when needed. Now go", Roger commanded.

As the others went away, the other half was left incharge of Ian.

Since the security devices of the house was disabled, the remaining got into the house by jumping the walls. Lucas' men were knocked out and by knocked out i mean smoothly killed ( come on they're special forces hehe ).

As Ian entered, he smelt food being cooked, what? under house arrest and still had the appetite? They really are a weird family.

He had listened in and saw what happened when Ansem went in so he knew how the scenes had played out.

"Morning, Mrs. Vaughlan. Lucas' men stationed outside has been cleared, you can now go out if you want", he said like a soldier and startled Mia.

"Thank you, Captain Ian. Please take care of my brother", Setzer said smiling at him.

Hm? They know me? Well then.

"Yes surely. Don't worry"

Mrs. Vaughlan,"Would you like to have a meal until then?"

En? What?!

"Thank you very much, Mrs. Vaughlan but we have to go. Goodbye"

"Goodbye then".

Rene's place---

Just as Ansem walked in, Lan and the others who were tracking him lost the connection and the video was blurred. Well, they had set up a strong signal cancelling device.

Lan cursed slowly while Rick patted him, as he did that Lan glared at him...hehe poor Rick.

"Welcome to my abode, nice to meet you ", Rene came down from the stairs and smiled at them.

Lucas greeted his brother and the others followed.

The two brothers just stared at the person ..indifference written all over their faces.

"Well, i was thinking of not meddling but you see, i care for my brother too much so i fell into this child's game of yours. You know it very well don't you, Shadow?", he smirked at Roger who was standing and looking at him.
