After all that's said and done, life began and it went well.
The Vaughlan family reunited well Daniel Vaughlan had not been released yet.
But Laura, Alan and his wife Susan, Gordon, Roger, Ansem, Amber, Setzer and Mia were having a getogether at the Vaughlan family mansion. Grandma was not here because she had suddenly gone to visit her friend overseas. She was not made aware that a big trouble had befall upon her family and had also passed. After sending her son to prison, she had gone to her friend to rest.
Ah, what a harmonious sight. Everyone was present, the evening was calm and the ambience was perfect. Laura put a lot into decorating the whole house ..yes it paid off.
Foods were placed at the table and all sat down.
Everybody was chatting and getting along well.
Amber was having a good time too but somehow she felt something was missing and went into a daze.
Ansem saw her and asked,"What happened?"
Amber snapped out,"Nothing just. Somehow it feels incomplete..."
As soon as her words fell, she realised that the noisy table had a pindrop silence. It seemed as if they had noticed Ansem asking Amber and so they all listened in. Amber shrunk her neck and her cheeks were flushed. Ansem smiled and put his hands around her.
Laura was the first to speak,"My dear, yes it does feel incomplete. After Daniel gets released. Let's have your wedding! I haven't met your parents either."
Amber was more flushed. Ansem just laughed and pulled her into his embrace.
Roger,"Hey you two. Okay we get it. Lets continue our dinner"
Everyone laughed it off and continued with bright moods again.
Laura,"A-Ansem, i have something to show you two after dinner"
Ansem nodded. He turned towards Amber whose face was filled with question marks. Ah so cute, when at Ansem's side, she just lose all her rationality hehe.
After dinner ended, Laura led Ansem and Amber towards a room. Ansem would have never imagined to come back here and see that room being locked up. He was suddenly very curious.
Well, she only led the two but somehow, the remaining people also followed in such a natural way that Laura just let it be.
Mia shrieked a little when she saw the room her mother was going towards.
"Ahh, Mom has never let us enter there after Ansem went away from home. She locked it up and has never opened it. She has the key on her all the time so even if i wanted to come in. I could never!! There is Elder Brother's piano over there which he treasured!"
Listening to Mia, everyone now knew the whole story.
As Laura stood there in front of the doorafter she had unlocked it, she turned towards Ansem and Amber then to her family and took a deep breath and opened the door.
The shiny surface of the black piano reflected the lights in the room brightening the whole room. There were lots of photos on the wall containing various pictures of Ansem with the piano on stage. Many more of their previous band's photos. There were Grandma's old photos too. And towards the far end, there were numerous records and album covers of the band's songs. Grandma's old record tracks could be seen here too. That cost millions you know! She would be very happy
There was not even a speck of dust in the whole room.
Everyone marvelled at the sight. After they were done being awed, they turned to Laura who was standing by the door, eyes red.
She had kept track of her son all these years, collecting everything related to her son and her daughter-in-law. Aww~
Even the forever stoic Gordon was moved, he had seen his mother enter here sometimes but didn't want to dig into it so he just let it be, he never would have known that his mother had been collecting and keeping all these even cleaning it herself. Yes, cleaning it herself, he saw some tools inside a door inside a room. It was a kind of storage.
Ansem was moved deeply well everyone was.
Ansem,"Mom? This..."
Laura just smiled at him.
Mia and Setzer's mouth were wide-opened, as a twin they looked pretty together and cute with that expression.
"Mom, you never told us! You know i couldn't even get that last album of brother's band and you..waa!!", Mia complained pityfully.
Setzer too nodded hardly.
Everyone laughed at the hilarious sight. They went over the room once again looking at the glorious achievements of the band and went down and had a hearty talk altogether as a family. None could forget this wonderful time they had.
The most precious time in your life...keep it aside for family. You will know that is the true meaning of closeness.
