Chapter 36: Zoli Fight part 2

Zoli had just started her escape taking off aiming to head back to Valac to get some backup, looking back she could not see Jake anymore as she made the distance between them even greater she started to think what Valacs reaction was going to be for not killing Jake and letting Djynn get captured.

Knowing he was not going to kill her but would probably punish her enough that she would wish she was dead, Zoli had been flying for a while when she suddenly sensed Jake's power behind her, panicking she stopped and turned around but saw no one.

As she turned back around she was blasted out the sky by a huge fireball, she then came crashing down into a massive forest leaving a huge clearing and crater as she landed, Jake followed up with a blow with his sword directly into her chest.

Jake quickly took out his last flask and tried to capture her before she could fight back, Zoli however quickly kicked Jake to the ground stood up and ran out the forest, with Jake following her he knew she did not want to fight which made it easier for him to catch her.

Zoli managed to make her way through the forest and come out to a large playfield with a small park on it, it was a large football pitch sized field surrounded by hedges, she knew she was too injured to take flight her only option was to try and fight Jake.

Jake came through to the open field and met Zoli standing in the middle with her chains around her arms once again.

Zoli: So you want to fight me

Jake: You're the one who started the fight

Zoli: fine let's start this for real this time

She once again flung two chains from either hand towards Jake with him grabbing one of them but getting caught off guard by the other chain which managed to wrap around his neck, Jake let go of the first chain and grabbed the one around his neck with both hands to rip it off.

She then managed to get another chain to wrap around his legs making Jake not able to move she quickly charged forward and started a fury of punches into Jake's chest and face, with each hit connecting Jake could feel his ribs breaking.

Jake getting frustrated quickly activated his aura once again with even more power than before, making Zoli slowly back off knowing she could do nothing now, she quickly took up her guars as Jake broke free from her chains and made his way over to her.

As he walked he left huge dents in the ground, Zoli had only one more plan something she had not done for a long time, and it was a hard technique that if she pulled it off it could kill or cripple an immortal.

Jake got closer and closer towards her as she kept backing up, she was quickly preparing her chains to pull off the technique, Zoli had stepped back enough that she was caught by a hedge behind her that separated this field with another.

Jake walked right up to her and was face to face with her, he raised up his sword which was completely engulfed in blue flames and was about to attack, Zoli quickly pushed her hand out with all her strength and hit Jake in the chest pushing him backward.

She then fired all her chains at him, Jake tried to block them all but one managed to phase through his blade and struck his chest piercing through to where his heart is, Jake looked down and noticed to physical mark, he ignored her attack and prepared another laser attack from his sword pointed directly at Zoli.

Jake fired off his attack hitting her and completely destroying the hedge behind her making her collapse to the ground, the attack had ripped apart most of her skin, Jake then settled his flames down and pulled out his flask once again walking over to Zolis body.

Zoli was only just able to turn herself over to face Jake as he approached her.

Zoli: You think you are finished now, ha, my attack will take effect and trust me you will regret not finishing me off sooner

Jake opened the flask and pointed it towards Zolis body.

Jake: Your attack did nothing, as long as you're captured I'm happy with whatever happens to me anyway

The flasks light then absorbed Zolis spirit and her body withered away into nothing.

Jake placed the flask next to the other one containing Djynn and sat down to prepare to teleport back to the monastery, as he was about to teleport he started to fell a sharp burning pain in his chest making him curl over on the floor.

Grasping at his chest Jake knew immediately that it was Zolis last attack taking place but had no idea what the attack could have done, as he lay on the ground face up trying to grasp what little breath he could take, his eyes started to get heavier and he could barely keep them open.

As he was fading into sleep he heard a female voice call out and with that, he passed out, Jake then suddenly woke up sat next to the pillar and the other blue flame users again, as he looked down the line once again he could partially see the second one in the line.

The first one saw him and turned to him again.

???: You're here again, how, it's not been that long

Jake: I just had to fight two fucking demons, the last one hit me with some chains causing me to come back here

The man started laughing

???: Yeah I've seen that actually been hit by it before, hurts like a bitch doesn't it

Jake nodded

Jake: yeah it does, so am I dead or what?

???: No you're not dead, not yet, the effects will wear off soon enough, and your body just needs rest

Jake sighed with relief and sat with him until he would return to his body.
