1. The Demesio Brothers

Long ago there was a Kingdom named Zalazar, a kingdom filled with lush forests, clear lakes and rivers, and a fantastic view of the mountains. The cities were made culturally, the buildings have tile and thatch roofs and statues of the previous rulers could be seen in the middle of the city. It was like paradise, but this was too good to be true. This paradise was destined to crumble.

The palace was burning while red vines creeps in every corner. And behind the ruined palace stands two men, one with the crown, and one with the light. It was a siege, a civil war between the kings of Zalazar.

"Your death is inevitable, Samuel!"

"My fate is not decided yet, Caesar!"

The one who rules this kingdom is Hans Demesio. His ancestors has ruled this kingdom for centuries and they have brought balance to the kingdom. Hans had two children, Samuel and Caesar. his wife died after she gave birth to Caesar, her younger child. Hans loved and cared for his children, but little did he know that they were the ones to change this kingdom for eternity.

19 years earlier. Somewhere in Zymeth, Zalazar's capital city. Two boys were playing in the open field, they had their wooden swords at hand swinging them like real weapons.

"Let us Duel, big brother! Draw out your sword and fight me!" Caesar said playfully.

Samuel replied with a smile, "Of course my dear little brother! Let us fight like it's our last!"

They played with their swords and enjoyed it. They played and played until Caesar got carried away with fighting, he went berserk while also walking backwards. "Try attacking me now, big brother!" Caesar shouted.

Caesar was slowly walking out into the cliff, not knowing that he was getting closer and  closer. "Uhh... Caesar, don't back up... Come to me because there's a cli—" said Samuel.

But before Samuel finished his sentence, Caesar smirked and said, "I'm not falling to your trickery, brother! You come closer!" once he said that, he was in the very edge of the cliff. Samuel immediately ran as fast as he can towards him, while Caesar tried to balance himself so that he could not fall.

Caesar screamed as he fell, but luckily Samuel made it in time to grab Caesar's leg, saving him from the cliff. "Don't worry Caesar, I've got you!" said Samuel.

"Brother... Please don't let go!" Caesar replied.

"If I still have strength, I will!"

"Alright brother, can you pull me up now?"

"I'm trying!" and slowly he pulled Caesar back up the grass. Samuel said, "Next time, try to be more cautious about your surroundings."

"I th-think that's enough playing for now... I— we should get back to the palace..." Caesar said while trembling.

So the two of them went back home with their wooden swords in hand.

"So, little brother, What would you be when you grow up?" Samuel questioned Caesar.

"Since I can't be king because I'm younger... I would become a general! I mean, I already have what it takes! I know how to fight, I know some battle strategies, and especially, I'm a Demesio! And when I'm a general, I can make Zalazar a better kingdom unlike before!"

"Ha! It's not that easy, little brother. You need more training than that! Also, if your king, you can make this kingdom as you wanted with just a word! I too want this place better."

"And you'll do it, right?"

"Of course I would! Now come on let's get home already!"

When they arrived home, they were greeted cheerfully by their father, Hans Demesio. "How's your little game, my little princes?"

Name: Hans Demesio

Age: 34

Title: The Bold

Hans is a well respected king for his great personality and his great decision making. He was part with some major wars in Zalazar back in the days, and he sadly lost his wife after giving birth to Caesar.

Hans said as he gave them a tight warm hug.

Then Caesar replied, "I almost fell on a cliff!"

"What!? Are you hurt?"

"Nope! Samuel got me up before I fell to my eternal doom."

"Well that's dangerous! Next time I'm sending a guard when you go play outside!"

But suddenly Yvan approached Hans and said, "Your majesty, reports of a mysterious cult is spreading like wildfire! They bring bad news each time they are brought upon. We need to put an end of this cult!"

Then Hans replied to Yvan, "Hmm... Yes. Send in the scouts! Find their lair! And I'll handle them!" after that he turned to his sons and said, "Alright boys, go along and play. Your father has something to do first." as he walked away.

"I'm going to the armory, do you wanna come, Samuel?" Caesar said to Samuel.

Then Samuel replied, "No... I'm going to take some fresh air."

"Suit yourself." and so Caesar went to the armory as he planned, while Samuel went outside to take a look at a good view of Zymeth.

Once he arrived, Samuel took a deep breath and relaxed at the balcony. While Samuel was relaxing, a girl same as his age sneaked behind him and said, "Looks like you got injured, Samuel!"

Samuel was surprised, "Oh! It's just you Christine. And no, I'm not injured, I just got a scratch when Caesar and I were playing."

"Well you still got hurt, so your still cualified as injured."

"So, why are you here?"

"What do you mean? I'm just here to check with my best friend!"

"Well you can't just sit there being adorable. You might have something that you want and I will give it to you!"

"No seriously, I'm just checking in on you. So what's up?" she curiously questioned Samuel.

On which Samuel answered, "Oh nothing much. My brother the same as always, the Palace is stable, and my father is busy... You know, normal stuff."

"Great! Glad to hear that everything's fine." but then suddenly, she became sad. "Actually... I'm here to tell you that I'm leaving Zalazar and go somewhere else..."

Samuel was confused, "Why? Why do you need to go?"

"My father is taking me with him... He received a letter from my grandfather... He had a big alchemy store somewhere in Drotha, I believe its name. I'll be studying there too, so that I can become a doctor," Christine replied.

Samuel was saddened by this news, "Will we see each other again?" he questioned.

Christine answered, "Of course! When I become a doctor I'll return to Zalazar to help the citizens!"

"How long would that be?"

"Maybe... Eight years?"

Then Samuel replied with a smile, "Then I'll be looking forward on meeting you again, Christy."

Christine smiled back, "Me too, Prince Sammy."

The two chatted for a while until, then they part ways. knowing tomorrow, they will not see each other again until eight years.

Meanwhile somewhere Zilos, king Hans and his soldiers was standing right in front a hidden lair deep within the woods.

"So this is where the fiends are hiding at daylight! What kind of dark sorcerery are they practicing in there? No matter for I, Hans Demesio, shall vanquish the cult that worships Darkness itself!"
