Chapter 33 Spilling Some Information

"So..." Rimuru muttered as he sat across the table from me.

"Mind telling me why you went on a rampage in your sleep?" He asked, causing me to rub my head and sigh.

"Just give me a moment, okay?" I needed a minute to calm my nerves down a little.

(Bloody hell...)

I was a little frazzled if I was being honest, not that I actually needed to say it out loud considering how I was currently acting. I was more pissed off at myself for losing control and possibly putting someone in danger by firing off random and somewhat crazed attacks in my sleep then I was freaked out by the haunting flashes from my previous life.

I had been expecting the memories to return at some point down the line and as such I was somewhat mentally prepared for it to happen but I hadn't expected it to be so damn vivid. Feeling myself die again like that, feeling so helpless, so pathetic...it...it's definitely not what I would have considered as fun. Still though, the fact that I could have accidentally killed someone from Tempest was a more painful thought for me at the moment.

(That wasn't a pleasant experience, not at all) I groaned as I rubbed my horns with one hand before looking back up at Rimuru with a slight frown.

"Sorry about destroying the room..." I whispered just loud enough for him to hear me.

"It is fine, no one was hurt after all so it's alright but I have got to ask, what happened back there? Why the sudden freak out?" He asked with a rather concerned look on his face, it made me feel even more guilty that I had ended up worrying him again.

"A nightmare I guess..." I mumbled not really knowing what else to say.

"What kind of nightmare can rattle you like that?" I couldn't blame him for being shocked at that, after all I'm not exactly a push over and I have enough power to literally destroy a mountain range single handedly, so yeah...

"You know this link we share is two way right? I could feel you as it was happening and..." that one line probably horrified me more than anything else that happened today.

"It scared the hell out of me" I felt horrible, I didn't want him to feel something like that, he didn't deserve to feel something horrible like that.

"But that wasn't your fault so don't worry about it" he quickly continued when he noticed my expression.

(Note to self, find a way to turn off that connection before something like this happens again) the connection had been there all this time without me really looking more into it, it was just in the background of my mind unnoticed and ignored, until now anyway.

"I guess...nightmare isn't the right word" I sighed inwardly.

(I should at the least come clean a little after making him go through that...) was what I thought as I continued on.

"It was more like a memory flash than a nightmare" that got his attention rather quickly.

"Memory flash?" It took him a second to understand what I meant by that but his expression soon changed, it was his turn to look horrified.

"Oh...Ar-are you okay?" He asked and I simply nodded in response.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I'm just a little shaken as all"

"You want to tell me what happened?"

(Should I just come clean and tell him? I was planning on waiting to fill him in until I got all the facts but he could help, I mean finding information on the fragments would be easier with his help I guess...) I took a second to contemplate but shrugged off my hesitation a moment later.

(Fuck it, he'll probably find out eventually anyway)

"I'll tell you but first there is something I need to do..." I hummed as I got to my feet.

I systematically began to enchant the walls, ceiling and floor of the room much to Rimuru's slight confusion at my actions. He knew what it was that I was doing but just not why, however he said nothing at all. As I continued to work he simply waited for me to finish up with what I was doing and explain myself.

It didn't take me all that long though as I wasn't trying to make the changes permanent, in fact I planned to remove them after this was over. Anyway, I quickly finished up and moved back to my seat before getting ready to spill some important information.

"I'd rather not tell the others about this at the moment mostly because I don't know what is true and what is false and I'd rather not have to give them miss information" I did plan on telling them but just not yet, I mean I'd probably have to tell some of them soon but I'd rather not have the whole of Tempest finding out about it

"I'm guessing that there is far more to this than just a simple trip down memory lane" I couldn't help but chuckle just a little at that. He had no idea about the bomb shell I was about to drop on him and so this was going to be very interesting.

"Yeah..."

I felt a little awkward starting off, where the hell was I supposed to start, even if I was only filling him in on a few things at the moment there was still a lot to go over. After thinking for a bit I just decided to start at the beginning of my conversation with Joy...or Baldr now I guess, however before I got to that there was something that I needed to go over first.

"The reason for my little night terror is because parts of my memories were altered when I came to this world and are now starting to return"

"Huh?!"

And so I began to explain. I told him about my altered memories and even the fragments, I also told him about the little I knew about a certain dragon of corruption. I made sure to leave out the battle with the Sixth and everything not about the conversation with Baldr, after all I'd probably have to fill him and everyone else in on that later.

"Well damn..." Rimuru said with a baffled look on his face.

"Yeah..."

"Are you okay?" The fact that this was the first thing he asked after hearing all that made me smile a little.

"That's the first thing you ask?" I chuckled slightly but he continued.

"Are. You. Okay?" He asked again and this time I hesitated a little bit.

"No...no I'm not okay" I sighed, I let my shoulders sag downwards as I lent back, leaning against my seat.

"I'm a little messed up in the head if I'm being honest, my mind is a complete mess and has been for a while now... And that's not even mentioning the fact that I apparently have three fragments of some ancient mad god sealed inside of me that have the potential to drive me completely insane if I'm not careful" I had a lot on my plate nowadays.

"I...I don't really know what to say..." He admitted and I couldn't really blame him at all for that.

"You don't have to say anything, it's nice enough to just get it off my chest" this didn't seem to comfort him however.

"Raphael, do you know anything about these fragment things?"

[No information is available, attempt to analyze both skills has failed, the last of the three fragments can not be found either] the familiar voice of Rimuru's skill spoke in both of our minds.

"Why?" He asked and got a simple answer in return.

[Something is blocking me from analyzing or searching for them] Rahpeal managed to sound somewhat frustrated, a feeling that I knew all too well at this point.

"What? Is it because of one of my skills?"

[The source of the interference is unknown, however it does not appear to be caused by one of your abilities]

"Damn it..." I hissed, once again something had gotten in the way of the answers I needed.

"I'm guessing you're two friends won't be willing to explain the reason for that?" Rimuru asked and I grumbled under my breath.

"Baldr hasn't spoken to me since the battle and I very much doubt that the other one would respond if I asked" The very least those two free loaders could do was answer me when I called for them.

"Well we'll have to see what we can do about that later, for now let's focus on the things we can actually look into at the moment" I nodded at that as Rimuru crossed his arms and continued speaking.

"I'll see if I can find any information on these fragment things, however we should be discreet about it considering the trouble that it might end up bringing to us if outsiders found out about this. We should also ask Veldora about this dragon you were talking about later as well" I actually hadn't thought about asking Veldora, no offense to him but he didn't seem like the type to care or pay attention to these kinds of things.

"In fact Milim might also know something as well, she had mentioned something about an angel of madness to me a while ago and that might have something to do with that other person you mentioned, the one who also managed to unlock Baldr and Miseria. Of course actually asking her about it might prove to be a little more difficult then asking Veldora, considering the current situation that is"

(Milim new about that too?) I was a little surprised by this but when I actually thought about it I had to admit it made sense.

"As for your missing memories, well, I think it's best to let them come back on their own instead of trying to force it" he said and I had to agree, having them all come back at once would definitely be quicker sure but I might have a panic attack again.

"I'll try and not destroy my room next time" I chuckled and he rolled his eyes

"It gives more work to the builders I guess, so it's fine"

"I'll destroy stuff more often then shall I?"

"Yeah, please don't do that" he muttered awkwardly and I smiled in amusement.

"Anyway, we should get ready for that meeting we're having" he hummed as he got to his feet, as he did a thought came to mind and I felt a tinge of guilt but quickly shook it off before he noticed.

"There is something I need to do beforehand so I'll meet you there" I gave a somewhat fake smile as I stood up as well.

"Okay, see you there then"

"See you there..."
