Your friend is a werewolf as well

Esha's POV

"I haven't seen you lately, what's keeping you so busy these days?" Bran asked when I was sitting on the stairs holding my cup, the weather is cloudy and it looks like it's gonna rain.

"Not really busy" I answered, "You? Have not seen you in like two weeks?" I countered because it is true.

Bran is a childhood friend and have been our neighbors for a decade so that made me friends with him when I was 10.

"That's a secret" he said and sat beside me, "I noticed you were with someone last night, who was that?"

"Oh, just a new friend in school" I answered, did he see him? We parked a block away from my house. Hmmmm, where had Bran been, "You can't tell my mom, okay? I'll introduce him to you and to my mom soon, just not now."

"A guy" he said, "Seems to me, he's not just a friend" he teased, "Come on, spill whatever that is, I'm your ever ear, always, Esha, come on" his grin made me punch him on his arm.

"Really? His just a friend, am telling you."

"Haha, tell me that again with your pinkish face, I'm gonna get the wrong idea here so come on now, tell me" his persistence knows no bounds, as always.

"A friend" I stood my ground on that, "By the way, Bran, would it be possible that all that supernaturals are real?"

"Sirens, vampires, werewolves, banshees, ghosts, that kind of supernaturals, you mean?"

"Yeah, those kinds."

"Well, they're legends, urban stories and a fantasy" he said, "But we are never really sure if they are not real, there are things and maybe, creatures that choose to stay hidden."

"Do you believe in them?"

"Not that I don't nor I do, just that, nothing is sure on those, products of the mind and imaginations can be rooted from something deep in our subconscious that sometimes, we dismiss them as not real, so I won't be able to answer you with a simple yes or no" he answered, "Why do you ask? What makes our Esha ask such things now?"

"Just wondering" I said.

He can really have me in a deep kind of a conversation whenever I ask something.

"You up for camping next week?"

"Uhm, I have to ask mom."

"I'll ask her, then" he said, "How's school?"

"You ask like you're not going to one" I said, "But well, everything's okay" I answered him anyway, "By the way, I have agreed to go to a Lit contest at Herin College next week."

"Now, that is a surprise, first for you, then" he said, "When's that?"

"Thursday."

"I'll drop by to watch you" he said, "Ever your supportive friend here" he continued and elbowed me, "Don't you remember what that day is?"

"Hmmm, what is it?"

He made a face palm and held his hand up then looked at me.

"Never mind" he said, "I'll be off then, I still have to check some things, great having a conversation with you again" he continued and gave me a side hug, "Missed you."

"Me, too."

He stood up and walked towards their house, then gave a short wave.

"Tell me something else about that guy friend of yours soon, okay?" he called out and was out of our lawn.

He goes to a different school at a nearby town. Not sure how he even wanted to go to somewhere not near their house. I was expecting him to go at the same school as I am but he is not.

Bran's POV

Back in town again.

Now my dear friend, Esha, is having a new guy friend. That's interesting, I guess I'll have to look forward to meeting this guy, whoever it is, anyone who try to befriend her would be investigated by me. Well, she's a close friend and I care for her. Wouldn't it be good to be like this?

"Yes?" I answered my phone that started ringing when I got home after the conversation with Esha.

"A new pack's in town, you know" the voice on the other line said.

"What do you mean?" Eh? A new pack huh?

"More like two" the voice on the other line answered, "A kind of rogue one and that kind of nomadic pack."

"You mean the Thales?" I said, not bad, "The other one?"

"The one with the alpha having a not so good record with the council."

"Oh, them" I said, "Anyway, I'll be bringing a friend on the camp next week, I'll tell Matt later."

"A friend huh?"

"Shut up, yes, it's a friend."

"Okay, as you say."

The call ended. Well, that guy can be really informative at times, always up on the news. Hmmm, well, new packs in town.

I'm a werewolf. Esha does not know. Well, I'll tell her if it's necessary but I think it's better not. These packs can be fun.

Well, this town is no one's territory anyway, packs can come and go but well, there will be parts of the town we can call our territory.

I go to a different school as the one I'm attending is exclusively for werewolf kids. We came here 10 years ago, a time that I started being friends with Esha.

Esha's question a while back took me by surprise but am good at concealing so well, I had to answer her in a more human like response.

Her 'just wondering' words are not to be ignored, though. Does she know something?

Roxy came out of Stephen's room.

"How's our little betrayer?" Mara asked and gave Roxy a smirk.

"I'm fine, luna" Roxy answered looking at the floor.

"Stephen would ask for you at times but never forget who I am" Mara said and held Roxy's face up, "Well, you're not being touch by him, that I am sure, but to the rest of the pack you are but a plaything for him" she continued, "Your shame for betraying him is for what? Love for a human who does not deserve you?"

"That's not true" Roxy answered, "...luna" she added to address Mara.

"You could have stayed by my side, our side, his side in a better position if you have not played a fool."

"Why can't you understand me?" Roxy asked in a pleading voice, "Ah, you don't because you always have to get most of what you want, you're also alpha's luna so you won't understand."

Mara lets go of her hold of Roxy's face.

"That's true, of course, but you better know that I regarded you as a friend but you went and betrayed my love, so that is a matter of importance that I can't let go" Mara said, her voice had that anger in it that Roxy felt so guilty, it is one of the things she regret the most, losing her friendship with Mara and letting Mara be so influenced by Stephen.

"I'm sorry."

"Address me properly."

"I'm sorry, luna."

Mara didn't look at her again and walks into Stephen's room.

"Why do you even ask for her here?" Mara asked.

Stephen looks at her with an amused look.

"Are you jealous?"

"Of course not" she said, "Who do you think I am?"

"Okay, as you say."

"Your past does not matter and well, I had some good times with her, though but I would want you to not ask for her that much" she said.

"You're my only luna, love" he said, "She's not here for my pleasure, as you well know, you're enough for me."

"I know" she said.

She still looked kind of irritated but he lets it go and pulled her instead to him.

"We will go to Herin College next week" he said, "You can have your time being friendly with our guest by then to abate that boredom you start to have again."

"I just hope she does not disappoint" Mara said.

"Oh, I'm sure she won't" he said, "We'll have to make sure she sides us."
