Thriller Bark II

While Akane and Ban were exploring the island, Shinobu and Lafitte were enjoying the small moment of peace they had attained after the rambunctious duo had left. Lafitte was reading up on some long awaited books, while Shinobu spent her time developing curious poisons that caused the body to become paralyzed and analyzing intriguing medicinal leafs that would cause hiccups and rashes.

They didn't worry about their companions at all, as both of them were strong enough to take care of themselves.

Sitting below the trees on a beach chair, Lafitte sipped from his wine. The fog around him didn't bother him as much as his captain, as he just lit some lanterns for light. So when something unusual happened, Lafitte just watched. Like right now, when a strange see through apparition was sticking out its tongue at him to rile him up.

"Negative~ Negative~ Negative~"

When one appeared, others soon followed as more and more of these ghosts arrived.

Not long after, an annoyed Shinobi was walking down the stairs, her usual smile becoming even more 'bright' than usual.

It was clear she was more than a little annoyed.

"It seems you have had some intriguing encounter as well."

Shinobu commented, seeing the apparitions moving about on the deck. Needless to say, she was disturbed by them as well, as she was interrupted right at the moment she was on to some new point of view on how to use a certain intestine melting poison.

"It appears so."

Lafitte replied as he didn't pay any attention to the ghosts. They were practically harmless to him.

As the ghosts continued to move around, multiplying as they go, another person appeared on the ship. She had pink hair done up in two pigtails, fastened by two black and white hairpins. On her head was a small golden crown. She wore a short shirt, which exposed her belly, as well as a mini skirt, with the rest of her legs covered by white-black striped thighs.

"Horohorohoro~ Let's find the treasure to bring to Moria-sama."

The girl said, not even seeing Lafitte and Shinobu as she began to talk to the ghosts. The ghosts continued their negative chant and disappeared into the ship.

"Ara-ara? We have a little thief on the ship. What should we do, Lafitte?"

Shinobu said, her head resting on her hand. One could already imagine what kind of smile she had as she looked at the pink haired girl.

"The captain will scold us if something is missing. Not that that is something bad..."

Lafitte replied as she continued to read the book.

"My, then I should let Akane-chan know you like to be scolded. I don't think she would look forward to know about this part of you."

Shinobu replied, a chuckled escaping her.

"You know I didn't mean it like that."

Lafitte put the book aside, looking shocked at Shinobu. How could she even think like that. He didn't like things like that at all. That would make him a creep, as well as a huge masochist. It was just hard taking the scolding serious if the one who did it looked like a little girl.

"Right~ I'm sure you don't. You can explain it to Akane-chan when she returns. I'll deal with this for now."

Right at this time, the pink haired girl finally spotted Lafitte and Shinobu.

"Hey, there are still people here!"

Coming out of the girl were more than a dozen ghosts. They stared at their opponents, the same words repeating over and over.

"Negative~ Negative~ Negative~"

"Devil fruit user. From what has been shown, a Paramecia type."

Lafitte commented, looking at the ghosts.

"Then I will deal with it, while you think of a reason for your previous remarks."

Smiling wryly, Lafitte left the situation to Shinobu, going back to reading his book.

"This is not the right place for you to be, Ojou-chan."

Shinobu said, drawing her slim sword while walking to the pink haired girl.

"Haah! As if you scare me! Go my cute little ghosts."

On her command the ghosts rushed forward towards Shinobu. The latter didn't even bat and eye as she rushed forwards, accurately dodging the ghosts coming her way. She was fast, but so were the ghosts. Whenever a ghost came close to her, Shinobu upped her speed and dodged them.

Arriving in front of the pink haired girl, Shinobu revealed her usual smile, a hint on viciousness and enjoyment twinkling in her eyes.

"Your timing is perfect. I needed someone to test this poison for me and you delivered yourself right to my doorstep."

The girl felt a sting in her shoulder as her whole body became limp soon after. The only thing she could do was look at the smiling face of Shinobu who was noting down the symptoms of her newly developed poison.

"You really know how to pick your opponents."

Lafitte muttered towards the girl, staring down at her face as he crouched beside her. Before the girl could even attempt to do something, cold shackles clamped down on her arms as she began to feel very weak.

"Not that I really care, better you than me."

Not intending to say anything else, Lafitte dropped the girl at the side of the ship, throwing her near the bushes. Both Lafitte and Shinobu had their fun as they went back to what they were doing before, completely disregarding the poor girl who was on the verge of crying.

Not long after, the girl did cry. But it was not because of Shinobu and Lafitte, no. It was because bugs or more precisely cockroaches had decided to make themselves at home in her clothes.

"You really are nasty to fight against."

Lafitte muttered, as Shinobu had thrown not to long ago a insect attraction pouch towards her defeated opponent.

"She interfered with my me time."

Was all Shinobu said as she went back inside.
