Alene and Dorcas were steadily walking towards the hospital wing. Alene had a frown on her face and scowled at her hair. Alene did not know what the Gryffindor boy was trying to brew but it certainly was not a cure for boils since her hair was turning into an ugly muddy green
Dorcas looked like she was trying her best not to laugh at her new friend's expense, but Alene looks horrendous. Her hairs turned into a frizzy green mess. Her hair was so frizzy you could barely make out her face.
The girls turned the corner until they heard a scream "AHHHHHHH," Alene whipped her head up and saw Peeves. The nasty poltergeist had a terrified expression as he stared down Alene. "You... You... You are the green monster of the Forest!!" Peeves screamed in a petrified manner and flew away as fast as his ghostly body could.
Alene grimaced at what the poltergeist said. On the other hand, Dorcas seemed to be highly amused by his reaction and kept laughing to the hospital wing.
Once they entered the hospital wing, even Madam Pomfrey gasped at her appearance. Madam Pomfrey quickly ushered Alene onto a bed, then quickly when to her potion cabinet. While she was searching Alene decided to ask.
"Dorcas is it that bad?" Alene said in a sober tone. Dorcas merely nodded trying not to smile. Seeing that Alene felt so embarrassed. She was always one to look after her appearance and after this fiasco, she was sure to tell her mother all about today when she sends her letter.
After a while, Alene saw Madam Pomfrey comeback with a muddy red potion and a silver potion. Both of which did not appeal to her taste buds. Nevertheless, Alene swallowed the disgusting potions in as less gulps as possible. After swallowing Alene looked her hair.
it was quickly turning back to its original state. Madam Pomfrey had her move into different clothes and called a house elf. "Rubo!" A wrinkly old house-elf appeared he wore a clean white pillowcase and stood in front of them. "You called miss Pomfrey?" He said in an old shrill voice. Madam Pomfrey nodded "Rubo could you please clean her set of robes. He nodded and flicked his pinky turning the disgusting robes smeared with green grubbiness, into perfectly new robes.
Alene thanked him and changed back into her robes. Madam Pomfrey gave her one last potion. It bright blue and smelled like blueberries. After Alene downed it She asked what it was for. "Ms Potter, this potion if to get rid of any foul-smelling substances on your body and replaces it with the smell of blueberries.
Alene only nodded and felt the heat rush to her face, she thanked Madam Pomfrey and escaped as quickly as she could. Dorcas followed behind, she took out her schedule and looked at what class they had next.
When outside the Hospital wing Alene turned to Dorcas. "Hey, Dorcas lets promise this situation stays between us. Especially the Peeves incident." She looked straight up at Dorcas, her eyes glinting in the early sunlight.
Dorcas laughed "Sure thing," Alene smiled back and said "It was pretty funny though, I mean Peeves scared of a forest monster," After saying this both girl were laughing as they walked to herbology.
============
Herbology, went pretty smoothly as Professor Sprout was very understanding and said that Lily had already explained what happened. Grateful to her Alene decided to sneak a few candies under the table while they took notes. Lily accepted but did not eat them during class.
Afterwards, she had Defense Against the Dark Arts. Their professor was good at explaining and liked practical practice more than note writing. His last name was Miriam but he did not enjoy students calling him Professor Miriam instead he asked them to call him Professor William.
Although he was against note writing he did give us a lot of homework. He wanted two different essays, each three-foot-long. The first essay was about Werewolfs while the other one was about theoretical cure's. We had to create cure which could supposedly cure the Werewolf 'Curse'.
Because they had to go to the hospital wing that morning they knew how to get the Great hall, it was just a corridor to the left.
Rushing inside they took a seat at the Gryffindor table. The table filled with sandwiches and different types of juices. Starving, Alene quickly took a BLT sandwich with some orange juice. "Alene, after this we have a free period right, wanna go to the library and do the DADA essays?" Dorcas said. "Wait can I join too, I definitely need help!" Marlene added as she plopped next to Alene. "Sure I don't mind," Alene responded and turned back to her sandwich.
After finishing her sandwich Alene took a chocolate muffin and ate it while the rest finished their lunches. The great hall started to slowly become less and less filled with students. Alene Stood up and grabbed her bag, Dorcas and Marlene were also done so they moved to the Library.
In the library it was fairly quiet, there were only a few people there. Alene quickly moved to a desk and put her stuff down. She quietly went to the Madam Pince. "Hello, Madam Pince, would you know where the werewolf section is?" Alene spoke in a quiet voice. Madam Pince gave a curt nod and walked in a soft manner.
Alene followed as they reached the werewolf section. Madam Pince told to not misuse any book or she will be banned from the library. A bit frightened Alene nodded and started looking through the bookshelves. After a while, she picked three books.
- The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection.
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
- Hairy Snout, Human Heart
Although they did not contain much information on curing the curse they did leave important facts. With her books, she started to steadily work on her two essays.
After the free period, Alene put back her books and moved on to History of Magic. The ghost Professor Binn was talking about the goblin war in a monotone voice. Alene looked at her side and saw James already dozing off. He was sitting next to Remus who was very pale, he looked frightened. Feeling bored Alene ripped a small piece of parchment and took out her quill.
On the paper, she wrote 'you seem rather pale, here is some chocolate candy' adding a mini chocolate wand candy she made unto the parchment. She waited until Professor Binns turned around and quickly sneaked over to Remus and handed him the candy then quickly sneaked away.
One thing that Alene saw as a huge benefit of being James's twin was the fact that whenever he would sneak to the kitchen at home to steal some of mums cookies. he would drag her with him and after countless attempts, they had gotten quite good at it too.
Remus read the note and turned around facing her and nodded gratefully in her direction. Alene smiled back in her direction.
After the boring history lesson, it was time for lunch. Alene who had sat next to Dorcas again pulled her along to the great hall.
