In the middle of a forest not far from the wizards' academy, two young travelers march on an undisturbed game trail. Fallen leaves and branches cover the earthen path, large stones occasionally obstruct the passage, large trees loomed over the land, thick canopy's cover the sky, sunlight occasionally streaming in through the seems as the wind brushed by. Little flames and sparkling lights floating above and under the thickets, giving the travelers a feeling of euphoria. It was magical.
Traversing the forest is not something that any player will do just to acquire a Sub-Class, but one of them was determined to obtain this one.
"AleyaMaby! You could have just taken the headmasters request to get the Woodworking Sub-Class you know!" JangiJoej exclaimed to a woman wearing a diadem of vines made up of metal alloy wrapping around her head, black robe-like lab gown, gloves of white cotton fabric, a staff of dried wood branch warping an orb on hand, a turtleneck under the robe paired with a Hakama, and closed slipper-like shoes.
They have been searching for the Woodworkers cabin for about an hour now. Occasionally coming across some monsters that they easily eradicated with a few spells.
"I need an item from the Woodworkers' special store." AleyaMaby directed to the boy who wore a stylish flat hat, a long robe that does not reach the ground sealed with a braid-like leather belt, a book latched on the belt, white cotton gloves, plain white undershirt, long black pants, and sneaker-like black shoe. If anyone saw him from afar he would have looked like Sherlock Holmes on his detective suite.
"If you get this material will we move to the main city then?"
"I don't know yet, let's see first if I can purchase the item with the materials I have on hand. The information we got was incomplete."
"If only I had known that that thing was the item you were looking for, I would have asked more."
"Thank you for that. Really. At the very least we have a definite lead on where the item came from."
"Warning! Warning! Warning!"
While the travelers are having this conversation the system sound came so suddenly.
[Void Energy Detected!]
After the alarm went off, a red marker appeared on their maps. Indicating the source of the void energy.
"How could a void beast..."
"Hurry JJ, we can't let that beast loose in this forest."
"How could a Void Beast be in this forest?"
"Who knows, maybe a rogue one."
The two mages dashed through the forest, following a game trail leading to the big red dot.

In the middle of the Lunyadi forest a bungalow stood alone surrounded by tall lean trees, a stream of light penetrates through the wide gap of thick canopies that cover the blue sky. Moss covers the roof of the building, mushrooms peeking through the wooden beams, five-round windows glare with red light, a tightly shut double doors adorned with wood binding irons, crystal wind chime in a shape of a pentagram and branches of yew tree places at the edge of the door beams.
Inside were a collection of carvings of wolves, bears, birds, and dragons even serpent carvings can be seen wrapped around a wooden staff.
"What brings a Vates and a Jiagu to the humble home of the Raynold?"
"The search for the Master brought us far from ours." Mizarin read the script.
"We have come at the request of the lady Lyadi." SayaShin renounced their purpose.
"If you truly have come at the request of the lady. You must have something that caught her senses."
"We can only show it to you until the muster shows himself before us!" Sated SayaShin.
Though the two already know that the person they are speaking to is the Grandmaster, they couldn't reveal this fact, because if they did, the master will never admit to the name that was given, only deny every claim that he is who these people call him to be.
"Show me! Then maybe I could call for the master to approach you."
"But if we gave you a material even the master could not turn away?" Pressed Mizarin.
"That is only for the master to tell."
"Then we shall have the right to refuse the master if we happen to have shown you, yet we are not accommodated." Claimed SayaShin.
"Show me!" Commanded the NPC with a hint of anger in its voice.
"This is the item that attracted Lyadi's eye," Mizarin stated, taking out a piece of the lowest quality Void Burning Wood.
"Ting! Ting! Ting!" A sound of a system alarm rang inside the building.
"Store that thing quickly." The Woodworker shouted with a hint of urgency.
"What... Just happened?" SayaShin enunciated.
"I think it has something to do with the Void Energy."
"Where did you take such an ominous thing from!"
"It was retrieved from a tree inside the Miniature Void Temple."
"You managed to take that large a pice?"
"This is jus..."
"Bam!"
Sound of the door swinging wide open and striking the supporting wall.
"Where is the Void Beast at!" Shouted the magician that struck the door, searching for a creature that was inexistent inside the room.
What greeted them was a group of three people loitering about at a corner table not far from the door.
"Hey! She just asked you. Where did the Void Beast go?" The wizard with a grimoire reiterated the demand of the other wizard.
"We don't understand your question." SayaShin returned.
"What do you mean you don't understand? A Void Energy was clearly detected in this exact location!" The wizard with the staff spoke.
"I think you're mistaken about something," Mizarin stated, observing the wizard's reaction.
"..."
"The Void Energy did not come from a lost Void Beast, but an excess Void Energy only." She supplemented. Taking out the same piece of wood.
"That..."
"Do you think to challenge my patience young Jiagu?" The Master spoke with obvious malice.
"My apologies if it insights your anger, but you see, we do not understand the meaning of your actions against this material." Explained SayaShin.
"I am the master you seek. Hand me the material so you can be on your way." The master finally revealed his Identity.
[System: You managed to uncover the identity of the Wood Carver, surrender the item that Lyadi recommended and unlock the Woodworkers' Bartering interface.]
Mizarin took out a piece of the wood and was about to hand it over to the NPC, but just before the item touched the craftsman's hands, a voice from behind shouted for them to stop.
"Wait!... That is an ingredient that could be crafted into an item with affinity to time and space if you refine it with silver or spirit stones before giving it away to the grandmaster, the crafted items from the stash will have either of the four elements: Holy, Time, Space, Or Spirit Attributes." Informed AleyaMaby.
"And what will this information cost us?" Mizarin stated.
"I only wish for you to sell us some of the Void Wood."
"How much could you pay?"
"At most 1 gold coin."
"2 gold coins."
"I can do 2 gold coins if you have more than 500 to sell for each of us."
"Call."
"Call?"
This stunned SayaShin, 2 golds were not small amount nor was it enough to compensate them for their trouble of harvesting, though they have more than 5000 pieces each, he wished he could charge more.
"A thousand pieces coming right up!" Mizarin announced while sending a trade request to the person in front of her.
There are two ways people can trade items, one is through the use of auction houses direct trading platform, the other is for the people involved to meet. In the second case, there are two ways to invoke the trading system, first is through the friend interface, second is to send the request face to face.
[System: Mizarin wishes to trade with you.
"Accept"
"Alright 1000 Void Burning Wood for 2 gold coins each," Mizarin stated, placing one thousand pieces of Wood into the interface, mixing the lowest and the highest quality materials.
"Yes! 2000 gold coins to 1000 Void Burning Wood." AleyaMaby restated.
"Contents confirmed?"
"Trade contents confirmed!"
[System: You have traded 1000 Void Burning Wood for 2000 gold coins.]
[Notice item deposited on the bag]
SayaShin did not have a chance to stake a claim on this trade, much less expect anything from his good friend.
[SayaShin: Why did you agree so easily with that price?]
[Mizarin: She gave information that tickled my ears, so I gave her some credits. Besides the market price for the wood currently is one gold coin, and releasing that much at one time will saturate the market. 2 gold coins are the better bargain.]
With the scarcity of Jiagu who have the upper hand in the Void temple, farming players could only manage to bring out ten wood pieces each, they are lucky if they could bring out a hundred each in a team of ten players.
[JangiJoej: Why did you agree to the two gold coins, isn't it a ripoff?]
[AleyaMaby: Do you think so?...]
[JangiJoej: What is it then?]
[AleyaMaby: Market price for this is one gold coin each, but to buy a stack of a thousand units at once is a big bargain. Besides, where do you find people who can actually harvest this amount of wood? What's a little lost if I could get the best quality of services.]
Taking some materials out of their inventory, Mizarin and SayaShin, placed both their Cauldron on the table on the corner of the building. Equipping the Wise Man's Grimoire they started amplifying the attributes of the pot, feeding a Void Burning Wood into the obtains mouth, followed be silver powder and some crushed stones.
After ten seconds of mixing the material inside the Cauldron, the refines Void Burning Wood revealed itself, on SayaShin's hand silvery veins appeared on the black wood, on Mizarin's hand a wood of silvery light streaming in and out of the black wood.
"Why is your product different than mine?" SayaShin asked.
"Let us compare the process we did."
The partners started enumerating the process they have done and sending screenshots of their activity log to each other investigating what caused the difference.
The two had performed at least a hundred attempts to compare the two processes, exchanging material, working on each other's pot, the yield was the same. Even asking the spectators to perform the same process on the same pot. Fortunately, one of those two actually has the same unit as Mizarin and this allowed them to make an inference for later to be reconfirmed.
Bottom line is that the cause of the material difference is their Job Class and their unit specification. Meaning, everything that they try to produce even after doing everything the same as the other may not produce the expected product.
Under the unit of applied science, the material has to follow the natural laws of materials and physics. While for the Undecided unit, every act is made to seem magical.
While the group was enjoying their little research session, the NPC at the counter was frozen still, waiting for the material to reach hands. It wasn't standing still and reaching its hands out because it has nothing to do, but because it was frozen still by the quest activation that has yet to be completed.
"Here are the item that the lady had recommended you to purchase," SayaShin said handing over ten Blessed Void Burning Wood, to the still NPCs hand.
"You have done well traveling so far, bearing these materials."
[System: You have unlocked the Woodworkers Special Trading System.]
One by one the four guests interacted with the NPC to unlock the bartering interface.
"Look at the wand Mizarin, its a Unique Quality."
"Would've been grater if the Orb is not in the stash as well." Mizarin
"Ohhh... a legendary fan."
"Are you going to take the fan too?"
"Nah... I'm more inclined towards the Chakram." SayaShin
"Ohhh... then what about the bird things weapon a sword, a spear, a shield, or are you sticking to the bow and arrow?"
"I was thinking the Chakram from the BlackSmith's stash is better, but this one here can be fused to the other so I'm taking it."
"So are you going to use Chakram as your main weapon now?"
"For now, until I find an off-handed weapon that suits my taste."
The two left the cabin in a flash of white light leaving the two wizards almost petrified, after collecting materials that cost almost 3000 void woods each, with SayaShin taking more than Mizarin since he purchases two sets of Chakram.
"Wah... to think that they both have that much!" The female wizard exclaimed.
"Hahaha... and we can't even say they tricked us."
"Strange thing though, it's like I have seen that flash of white light before."
