Standing before them, Suzie looked down into their eyes. Her eyes showed both her commitment and the fear which instinctively kicked in when she was near them. Her hands were still shivering. She had thoughts of backing out but held on when she remembered Mark's words only a few seconds back.
He was right. She also felt the need to express the other emotion she felt when she met people like this. She needed to get rid of the fear, so she could continue to travel with them and not be a burden which might cause huge trouble for them. She didn't like the feeling of dragging others down.
Mark remained calm and gave her space. He looked at both of them and knew who sent them. It was mostly his idiotic brother. Mark's anger rose as he thought about him. If anything would have happened to Suzie, Mark would have lost his temper completely. Mark held his head as the past memories he buried resurfaced.
