Escape From The Phoenix

Xenon and Flora looked at each other, still hiding behind the pile of straw. It seemed as if they were talking telepathically, while makin weird faces.

"So are we actually going to jump?" Xenon said telepathically.

"Well that's the only way out of here." Flora responded telepathically.

In all of a sudden, the Phoenix started knocking down straw piles. Luckily it hadn't reached the pile Xenon and Flora were hiding behind.

"It's now or never." Said Flora (Still telepathically).

The Phoenix was getting closer to them, this panicked them. Flora grabbed Xenon by the arm and ran to the edge of the nest, this attracted the Phoenix's attention and it started heading in their direction. Flora, still holding Xenon's arm, jumped from the nest. While jumping out they could hear the scream of the Phoenix.

Xenon felt a cold breeze going through him, it numbed him. Then everything in his sight went black, a couple minutes had passed and he woke up. He couldn't feel his body, Xenon stood up and looked around. An icy lake laid before him which was surrounded by a icy forest. Xenon's head stared to hurt, it was too cold for him, a vampire.

"Flora where are you?! Are you okay? That was a pretty long jump!" Shouted Xenon with concern.

He walked around the small area he woke up, drenched in freezing water, trying to see if Flora also passed out. Xenon went around a tree that was next to him and saw Flora laying there, face flat. A red substance was coming from underneath her. Xenon started tearing up, he then proceeded to turn her over and hold her by the head.

"Flora stay with me!!!" Xenon could barely speak up.

AT THE SAME TIME WITH ACE AND FU.

Ace and Fu were getting further away from the village and closer to the Phoenix's nest. They have been riding for about an hour.

"Oohoo we are almost here, young one." Said Fu.

"So this is where the Phoenix lives." Responded Ace

"Oh, no this is not the birds nest, it's a place where we can rest. Don't be silly the birds nest wouldn't be this close, if it was, it would probably be dead by now."

"I don't need rest, let's proceed this journey." Ace said coldly.

"You might not need rest, but the horses and I do."

"If I knew that you were going to hold me back, I would have not brought you with me."

"We are here." Fu said as if he didn't hear Ace.

"Well, since we are here we can rest for a bit, but as soon as the horses feel better we will leave straight away."

"Yes, yes your highness." Said Fu mockingly.

Fu grabbed the reins of both horse and tied them to a tree, then fed them some water that he took out from his sack. Ace walked around, this place seemed suspicious. Fu came out behind him and walked with him, they both noticed a cave that was hiding under a lot of plants. Fu ran up to it and proceeded to take off the plants, Ace followed him and helped him take them off. After they finished they walked inside, it was huge, suspiciously huge.

"Maybe we will find some treasure here." Fu exclaimed.

"Someone's been here recently." Ace said.

"What do you mean."

"I can smell it, plus the plants had a trace of magic, which means someone used magic to cover the entrance of the cave."

"Maybe they are hiding some valuable things."

"We shouldn't stay here for long"

Fu started walking to the wall of the cave, and sat down. He saw something laying on the floor, it looked like a lever. Fu pulled it and the whole cave started shaking, Xenon ran over to Fu to protect him. The wall behind them was gone! Ace looked inside, it was too dark to see anything.

"I will go inside, you stand here and keep watch."

"Are you sure? It seems pretty dangerous."

Ace found a stick on the floor, he lit it on fire using magic. He walked inside and it was still too dark to see anything with one torch, so he reached in his pocket and took out a talisman and threw it up in the air. It lit up the whole place.

Ace looked around the place, but one thing caught his eye, a huge drawing of a Phoenix on the wall. He walked up to it and soon noticed that there were smaller pictures around it. It was as if the wall was trying to tell a story.
