After bidding farewell to his father and brother, Fuyuto went towards the designated place of the Written Exam.
The faint headache from before slowly left his head. Nearing the door, a hand touched his shoulder, and as the slightly absent-minded Fuyuto turned back, he saw Ojiro: ''Are you okay, man? You seem to be a bit strange.''
Fuyuto shook his head before saying: ''I'm fine. I was having a bit of a headache but it went away, not gonna affect me. Don't worry.''
Looking at him doubtfully, Ojiro sighed before nodding. As they walked, the two of them saw Midoriya: ''How did he fall? I literally didn't see anything on his way, I can only guess someone trolled him.''
Taking a look, Fuyuto couldn't help but nod at what Ojiro said. Midoriya was just walking normally when suddenly, he fell, there wasn't even a rock on his way, he simply fell.
But the lucky him had a girl with a Gravity-type quirk to avoid him from falling.
'Midoriya seems to be a bit different from what he's usually. He seems to be a bit more confident?' Fuyuto thought to himself while narrowing his eyes. The white-haired teenager had no idea why, but Midoriya's figure seemed to be stronger. [1]
[Midoriya's P.O.V]
It wasn't easy to admit that people like me weren't more than outcasts of society. As people who were born without any individuality, or how they call it, Quirks, we're useless.
No natural talent, no place in society. I wasn't one to say that you would be accepted just because they have natural talent, though. That wasn't true.
Even so... There was nothing holding me back from trying to be a Hero, even the bullying I suffered from my own 'best friend' wasn't going to stop me. It was something I only realized a few months ago, but I should've started training ever since I discovered I was quirkless.
'DEKU! You're nothing more than trash, an outcast!' These were words I heard regularly from Kacchan. I didn't blame him because I knew that was his own way to try to make me avoid hurting myself more in the future, due to my quirklessness.
But it still made me bitter about it, and the feeling of uselessness didn't leave my mind. I wanted to train, I wanted to be stronger in order to be a Hero. However, the feeling of being useless held me, it was as if nothing I did would change me.
That changed 10 months ago, when I met my master. I can confidently say if not him, I would still be the same useless person, of course, the future was unpredictable. A few weeks ago, someone changed my determination.
Even though I already inherited my master's Quirk, I will still prove that even without a Quirk, hard work can win against natural talent.
I was walking through the streets, going back home, when I saw someone looking very confused. I couldn't hold myself from asking him: ''Mister, are you okay? Can I help you with something?''
The person looked at me with a surprised expression before nodding: ''Yeah, I'm searching for a white-haired teenager, about 1,70 meters tall, has a Silver Flame quirk and all.''
I almost chuckled at his way of describing Fuyuto but was able to hold myself back. In the way, I talked with him, there were sorrows in my heart, caused by what happened a few years ago: ''I'm just someone quirkless, I don't have any individuality at all.''
Looking at me, the person seemed to notice I was downcast, but his honest expression was engraved deep in my heart: ''You shouldn't feel down because of that. In the place I live, there is a saying - What makes you special is that you don't have anything special.''
These words shocked my mind as he continued with a chuckle: ''I have a friend that, just like you, is Quirkless. Despite being bullied and mocked through his entire childhood, he wanted to prove them wrong. Natural talent could lose against hard work.''
''And he proved them wrong.'' The person said before we parted ways, his words deeply engraved in my mind. Perhaps at that time, it was what made my determination change, so I started looking for ways to improve myself.
The Quirk depends on me just like I depend on the Quirk. These are my current thoughts as I started to learn Martial Arts, I couldn't just think a Quirk would make me different, special.
The person's figure was covered by a dark mist to the current me. However, his words changed my perspective, and my determination changed because of it. With these thoughts, I finished the Written Exam.
[Third Person P.O.V]
Fuyuto had just finished the Written Exam, and was pretty sure he would get a perfect grade on it. Looking around, he noticed Present Mic was sitting on a chair with a somewhat bored expression: 'I don't blame him, this will take at least 2 hours.'
The white-haired teenager also noticed that Midoriya Izuku also seemed to have finished his test. Differently from the Practical Exam, all examinees did the Written Exam in the same room.
Two hours quickly passed by as Present Mic stood up and started talking: ''You will all be divided into four groups. Those from group A will go with me, group B with Midnight, group C with C with Aizawa, group D with Kan.''
Fuyuto stood up before hearing his name being called by Kan, who he remembers to be 1-B Homeroom Teacher. The white-haired man led him and a few other fellow examinees to a huge gate: ''Wow... This is like a real city!''
Some students said in wonder, Fuyuto also nodded because it really seemed like so. Taking a look around, he saw that Bakugou Katsuki was in the same group as himself, massaging his forehead, Fuyuto thought: 'Ugh. This is troublesome, I just hope he doesn't come to trouble me.'
Without further warning, Sekijiro Kan shouted with his ever serious face: ''Start!''
As soon as Fuyuto heard that, Ice started spreading from his feet. A feeling of coldness oozed out of it as it created a wall behind him, blocking all other examinees as he rushed out.
A faint curse sounded in the background as a huge explosion followed by: ''You f*cking bastard! DIE!''
Too bad, Fuyuto was already far away, running through the alleys.
[1] Before some can complain, I put this POV to explain a bit. I won't make him like some non-existent char. If you don't like the fact I gave a tiny bit of development to Midoriya, the option not to read is always there.
Aye.
