Ch 7 Part 1

Chapter 7

Back in the village, Cedren was starting to have some slight mobility issues of her own. By the time she had finally reached close to six months in, it was harder and harder to move properly. Therefore, the added help was much needed. She kept apologizing for not helping with the recruits. It was her job after all. Cedren knew it was not her fault but apologized anyway for not helping with the troops. She hung her head slightly and made a partial pouty face.

Cedren: "I'm sorry love, I should be helping you with the troops, even now."

Nuvaro: "Don't be silly, they are all very much aware that you are carrying more than one child. Trust me, the looks on their faces when I said we were having triplets was priceless."

Cedren: "Oh so you told them. Okay, I just did not want them feeling like I was shirking my duties. I had been there constantly there by your side for all this time now you know."

Nuvaro: "Its fine, they understand. Besides, they know as well as most do that more than one child at a time is unheard of in our village. So, we are kind of a big deal currently."

Cedren: "Wow, I never realized we would end up hoisted to a famous status just because of our children. It is almost too much to bear."

She just shook her head once more, still feeling a little guilty about not helping. By this time, it was easier to start having the food brought to her room, trying to sit at the dining table now was getting rather difficult to do. The baby belly was getting in the way, plus it was saving her half the teasing comments her father-in-law was sure to be making at her expense. She was wanting to know how conversations were going at dinner time now. It had only been about two months since the start of the stay-at-home bed rest was implemented. But Cedren was getting a little lonely sitting at home most of the time by herself for most of the day now. When Nuvaro came back from dinner, she asked him about taking her to the bath. With little hesitation, and a big smile on his face, he carefully helped his mate up and proceeded to the big bath.

Nuvaro: (Wrapping his arms around her, he nuzzled the back of her neck and lightly nipped at it. He then gave several kisses and let go after a light hug) "Here we are my love, I will help you out of your kimono and we'll get you in the bath. It's the least I can do."

Cedren: "Thank you my love. I am so happy that you are with me right now. I have been getting lonely the last few days. I know it is nothing that can be helped, but still. It makes me feel useless just sitting at home while you work so hard."

Nuvaro: "Is that what got your mood off more than usual. I am so sorry my love. I have been contemplating speaking to father about bringing in someone to help me out so I can spend more time with you. It's just been so hard to find the time to speak with him."

Cedren: "That would be great, do you think he will agree to it. There are some top ranked soldiers in my village I am sure they would not mind giving us one of them to help train. Besides, it should go as flawlessly as it did with me since the routines are easy to incorporate."

Nuvaro: "Good thinking my love. I do not see why father would have any objections to someone helping while you are with child. I could really use the help. I just got so used to you picking up the slack, I took it for granted."

Cedren: "I know you could use the help, and I need your support. So, I do not see why he would argue too bad with it. I must be on bed rest, and not being able to do anything, it is taking a toll on me mentally. I'm not used to sitting around doing nothing."

Nuvaro: "We'll send a carrier bird with a message to your parents tomorrow my love. I will talk with father in a bit. I am sure he will be on board with the idea. In fact, I'm sure he will welcome it with no issues."

He finished putting me in the water and proceeded to disrobe himself. He climbed in beside me and sat down leaning me against him. We just sat there for about fifteen minutes enjoying each other's warmth. He leaned over kissing her softly, lightly nibbling at her bottom lip. Responding with a soft purring growl, she wrapped her arms around his neck, the best she could anyway, she stopped when she realized she could not fully do it. She leaned over slightly laughing to herself. He wondered what was wrong till it dawned on him too, "duh, her belly's in the way". As they sat there laughing loudly, a knock on the door stopped them both from laughing.

Housemaid: "Young sir, are you, all right?"

Nuvaro: "We are fine, we just couldn't help but laugh at something just now that is all. Please come in in about ten minutes to help me get my wife out of the bath please."

Housemaid: "Yes young sir, as you wish."

Nuvaro: "Well my love, we should finish up. I will help you wash. So please, just relax. It is the least I can do, besides, I will enjoy it too."

Cedren: (I smiled and kissed him on his cheek while I enjoyed the scrub down) "Thank you my love. You did not have to do that you know. But I appreciate it."

Nuvaro: "Please do not worry my love, I will continue to enjoy helping you bathe and anything else you may need."

He growled lightly in my ear and gave me a soft biting kiss; right on cue, the housemaid came back in to help me out of the bath after laying clothes out for me to change into. We thanked her for her assistance and smiled as we saw her off. We then headed to the bedroom to lay me down. We ran into Nuvaro' s father on the way and he followed us in after explaining we had something to discuss. Things went rather smoothly for the discussion on getting someone from my village to help with his training regiments while I was on bed rest. As we had thought, he found it to be a great idea and was on board with the idea right away. He seemed to be happy with the idea of getting someone else from my village here. With no arguments and no pushback on the idea, they decided they would send the message to her parents tomorrow about what they had discussed.

The next morning Cedren asked Nuvaro for the writing implements so she could write a message to her family. She wrote the message out explaining to her father and mother that they needed one of the good secondary trainers to help while she was on mandatory bed rest. Without her being able to help with the training, it was becoming harder on Nuvaro to train solo while she was gone and take care of Cedren at the same time. She also included the fact that Nuvaro' s father was well on board with the idea and liked the fact that a secondary person from an allied village being there would be extremely useful. When she was finished writing everything out, they sent the bird out. All they had to do now was wait for a reply from her parents. Hopefully, their reply would be rather quick. That evening, they received a reply from her family. Nuvaro and his parents were curious to find out if her family would help them out. Before she knew it, everyone was in Cedren and Nuvaro' s bedroom to find out what their response would be. She slowly opened the letter and began to read it. After a few minutes, she conveyed what it contained.
