Ch.3 As life turns away
Into a seemingly normal white examination room, Arthur was having a physical check-up being done by a totally normal colorful snake haired, white bearded, round face, potbellied old man in a off white patched up medical coat.
"Well Arthur, I don't know what happen to you, but I am going to have to give this to you straight" The snake haired old man paused and went to sit down in a nearby chair as he left Arthur sitting on the examination table.
"What is it, Grandpa?" Worried, Arthur asked turning to face his snake haired Grandpa named John.
Grandpa John gave a sigh. "Well, Arthur you died. Your heart is gone" he said looking Arthur in the eyes and continued after a pause. "Well, actually, everything is gone! It's like someone hollowed you out like a pumpkin" he said giving the snakes on his head the medical tools he used on Arthur.
"Honestly how did you not notice something was wrong until way after you showered" John asked with a sigh at his nephew as he pet the snakes on his head.
"I don't know whether to congratulate you on finally obtaining your 'Key' or to go bury you with your parents" John said with a soft laugh looking at his nephew who appeared shocked at what he was told.
"You mean I-" Arthur got interrupted by his grandfather. "Yes, this is your 'Key' you can go finally go to the Gate of Infinite doors" John told Arthur the now dead man, who was expectantly ecstatic about what he was told and hugged his grandpa, only to get bit by the snakes on his head.

Gate of infinite doors: The mysterious gate appeared seemingly out of nowhere in front of a nondescript building 10 years ago and does not allow 'normal' humans to enter unless they have been changed in some way or entirely with the energy that has been leaking from the gate, resulting in fantasy-like races coming into being. This energy has been named [Mana] and the building which the gate appeared close by to has been remodeled into a recruiting site similar to guild halls in games and novels for the changed who are called the [Explorers] five years after its discovery, which have been named as such to aid in helping the more recent generations understand.

'Keys': 'Keys' are the results of a body or, body part taking in [Mana] and changing to be able to adapt and fit as much energy as the body or body part is able to hold resulting in fascinating physical changes such as [Metallic skin], some parts being entirely changed to crystalized form of energy of various colors and Etc. Unfortunately cases of what we now call [Mana overload] have occurred where some population of humans capable of sensing and controlling [Mana] believing it to be completely beneficial to them without harm, resulting in a violent outburst of [Mana] rushing into the body and disintegrating them as punishment for trying to force a change of their body in their favor, fortunately such cases are rare as most don't obtain the ability of [Mana Control] until after their mutation and entrance to the [Gate of infinite doors].
