The New Chapter

"My flight leaves in an hour so I have to be in the airport within thirty minutes." I slipped my feet into my Giuseppe Zanotti heels and readjusted my watch with shaky fingers. "Are you sure you have everything under control?"

"It couldn't be better. Relax." Henri slipped his hands around my waist and pressed a slow kiss to my exposed neck. "It's a one hour plane ride. I'll survive."

During the seven weeks I'd been stuck in the house recovering, Henri had made considerable progress with our plan in the Parisian streets. Of course, he knew what he was doing, and I knew that too. All my hesitation was mostly procrastination because I didn't want to leave him.

He would never know that, though.

"I know you're more than capable of handling things; something is just not right with me today." I sighed and pressed my palm to my forehead. "This is insane."
