Lai Yiteng ended up lying down on the bed as Xian Wu placed his hands on his back. His skin was prickling from sensations and he choked down an irritated growl from escaping his throat.

Xian Wu was using his internal force to check Lai Yiteng's pulse and meridians, his hands dancing over the scales with precision and ease as he focused on his task.

"It's what I thought. These scales are growing in the places where your veins of spiritual energy are the most altered. Places that the poison you ingested has frequently flowed."

"So everywhere?" Lai Yiteng asked sarcastically.

"Well, blood does circulate through the body…but certain places have a build-up of toxins. In any case, this only tells us that the two are connected."

Lai Yiteng felt those fingers run over his shoulder again and shivered. He rolled up suddenly.

"That's enough for now."

Xian Wu blinked. "But…"
