"Why not make Waddles a pin to live in outside?" asked Xian Wu. "…pick a spot farther out in the forest."

Xian Wu didn't want Waddles to be inside a building here, lest it get black stains everywhere.

"Waddles doesn't like the sunlight," answered Lai Yiteng bluntly. He was sitting on the step outside of Xian Wu's room, staring out at the garden.

Xian Wu scratched his head. "Is that so. Just find a cave for it somewhere, then. Or else what do you want to do about it?"

The ginkgo trees were bright golds and yellows, their leaves floating to the ground. Lai Yiteng watched a few of them, not answering Xian Wu immediately. He felt a bit absent-minded, both bored and impatient, and he knew why.

It was because he'd sat around for a month by now, doing nothing. The biggest problem that had come up was that Waddles needing a bigger box.
