A white moose, seen as a spirit animal by the Cree is shot. The hunters are murdered, then the hunting lodges burned to the ground. A group calling themselves the White Moose Clan has declared war on Canada and Spruce Bay is caught in the middle. Jim and Leigh struggle with escalating tensions between groups in town as events spiral out of control.

Spruce Bay

Leigh rolled over and went back to sleep when Jim left. She didn't get that many opportunities to sleep in and she wanted to enjoy it. She smiled, it was too bad that Jim was working today, there were other things they could be doing.


The sun was up when she got up and made coffee. She decided to make breakfast as well. Might as well be decadent. Usually she had something to work on. A morning with no agenda was a strange blessing. She savoured the smell of bacon and eggs. The sizzle of them cooking made her mouth water. 


She really, really wished Jim were here. They would eat breakfast, then she'd find an excuse to get him back to the bedroom, though it never took much of an excuse. Since Jim wasn't here, Leigh needed something to do. She didn't feel like working on her computer.
