Chapter 66

Jim hadn't realized how frustrating it would be to have the task force take over the investigation of the arsons. It became like having an itch he couldn't scratch. To distract himself he pushed his detachment to get back to as close to standard as they could manage. That meant having an officer out on patrol at least during the day times.

Cam was back from escorting Norm home and reported he'd personally reinforced Norm's hero status with his family. Jim watched him talk to Darren and apparently, they came to some kind of agreement, because there were no more arguments. Jim set up three shifts, Cam and Pat, Darren and Amber formed shifts which rotated evening and morning. Jim patrolled through the day while Carol worked in the office. He still needed more officers, but he wasn't going to complain while the Inspector and the task force busted their tails next door.
