Chapter Eighteen

Halloween day dawned clear and bright. Jim called his team in.

"All hands on deck today. I've heard warnings there may be some form of attack so be on the alert. Anything unusual report it to me. I want you using cell phones, not police frequencies. Make some standard chatter on the police band so everything sounds normal. I want you to use extreme caution responding to any situation. Wait for backup. The Inspector's team is running security for the Deputy Minister, but I want a sweep of the airport road and of the landfill. Go, and we'll all hope my sources were wrong."

The four officers went out to their vehicles and headed out. Jim knew they would sweep the roads several times before patrolling the town and reserve. There was just too much area to cover. The roads barely scratched the surface, but they had to do something.
