"So." Darren closed his eyes and leaned against the wall. "It's time, is it?"

"The Colonel believes he has a mole in his command. He wants someone who is completely separate from his people to infiltrate the White Moose."

"And that person needs to be me?"

"You do have a unique qualification the rest of us lack," Jim looked ashamed to be stating it, as if recognizing Darren wasn't white was a social gaffe.

"I'm Cree, and so I could be one of the enemy."

"Unfortunately yes, I don't like it, but if you are willing, we do need to get information from inside the organization."

"I won't be able to just walk up and join them. Anyone from here will know who I am."

"I think you're going to have to snap in a big way, something to make the news and give you credibility."

"I'm afraid to ask."

"Lyanne suggested the gangs were involved in a big way. We'll find an excuse to make a move on one of the gangs. You accuse us of racism and resign."
