Chapter 47: Queen of Cups

The rain pounded down on Harald's head like fingers drumming on his skull. Siana and Sarandia huddled under their tarp on the wagon. The drivers and Dedrick wore wide brim hats to protect their heads. 

Harald couldn't see very far into the downpour, but he didn't think any bandits would be out in this weather. Bows would be impossible, so it would be hand to hand fighting to take the caravan. Most bandits weren't interested in putting their lives on the line. From the glimpses he got, they were riding past plowed fields. 

They'd been moving through the rain for three days. As soon as they came out of the mountains it had started and poured without let up day or night. Harald tried to hunch a different way to relax muscles that cramped in the damp.
