 "Go fetch the Doctor," she ordered the apprentice.


"No," Marshal pushed himself to his feet. "I'm alright. It was the shock of the binding returning." He looked at Marriette and grinned. "He's back - whatever separated us is gone." He went still for a long moment. "King Harald has landed outside the Port and is making his way here. He warns of treachery."


"How long until he gets here?" the apprentice asked.


"He's traveling hard, but on foot." Marshall still looking inward. 


"Go." Marriette pointed out the door. "Don't let anyone see you, make sure the King gets back here safely. Bring him in so no one sees. We don't want to force the rebellion."


"Your Majesty." Marshal bowed then ran through the secret door.


"Stay outside the door." Marriette said to the apprentice. "No one comes in or out."


"Yes, your Majesty," he stepped outside and exchanged some brief words with the guards.  One took station beside him while the other headed off down the hall.
