Chapter 78: Amid a Sea of Black (Part 1)

Ronice was an island amid a sea of black.

"Barbarians," Marcus Worth said beside Leah. "I think not."

Perhaps the trade caravan Worth and his men had met up with had mistaken this army of coblyns for barbarian men. Or maybe there had been barbarians here, but the coblyns had driven them off.

The walls still stood, but Ronice's main water source was a tributary of the Cervice River almost a quarter-mile from those walls. There were bound to be some wells within the city proper but surely not enough to support the entire population. If this had been going on for longer than a few days, water reserves would be dangerously low.
