Chapter 107: Miles Away from All Eternity (Part 1)

He was flung into darkness, and he landed hard on his back. He scrambled against the floor, trying to turn around, but the door slammed behind him.

"No!" Justin screamed.

He stood and hurled himself unthinkingly toward the door. His body hit it at full force. He didn't know what it was made of, but all his weight at a sprint didn't so much as jiggle the hinges.

He bounced off and reeled backward. He screamed. It felt like a lightning bolt had hit his infected shoulder, searing, cutting, and electrifying all at once. Back down on the floor again, his right hand curled into a furious fist. The fingernails bit into his palm. The pain in his shoulder made rational thought almost impossible, but one thing was clear: He was in a prison cell. A dungeon.

He punched his knuckles against the stone floor.

"Damn it," he said. "Damn everything!"

"Justin," someone said.
