Adonica pushed the first one forward. His hands were bound, and he tripped and fell before Gunnar. The second stood in front of her. His hands were also bound. Terror showed in his eyes despite his best attempts to hide it.
"Far as we could tell, there were only two of them," said Adonica. "Didn't take much pressure to make them talk. The trouble is figuring out what they're saying."
Gunnar scratched the back of his neck. The men had been picked up just off the banks of the Cervice River. Ragny, of all people, had spotted their fire through the fog. They had actually approached the ship, waving. It wasn't until they'd been close enough to see Gunnar's archers aiming at their faces that they had realized their mistake. They had surrendered without a fight.
