Rock crystal wands contain one or more rock crystals: a large one for the wand's end cap, a small one at the wand's tip, or small ones along the wand's length.
Rock Crystal
Rock crystal is made from silicon dioxide and is an abundant mineral in the Earth's crust. The following mystical crystals commonly used in wand making are all different varieties of quartz: rock crystal (clear), amethyst (purple), citrine (yellow to brown), and rose quartz (pink). Rock crystal will be meant when the term quartz is used in this book.
Mystical Properties and Uses
A single natural quartz rock crystal is the most common mystical crystal used for a wand tip. Wand makers almost always use natural quartz crystals rather than a faceted or cabochon gems made from quartz.
