Fever.

Rose had not told Arthur about what had happened, in her office when Justin came to visit. They now acted like strangers each busy with his work. But it didn't stop Arthur from sending her lunch or coffee in the middle of the day. Even when he was stuck in a meeting he would still send her refreshments.

Rose arrived home and went straight to her room. She took a shower but Dorothy had put her washed clothes in the master bedroom. Having been avoiding get husband she didn't want to go into the room. She called one of the maids and told her to go get her clothes back.

"Your husband hasn't left the room since he came back. Dorothy said we shouldn't disturb him since he looked to be in a bad mood " the maid told her

Rose frowned as she thought of what to do. She tightened the towel around her body and walked out of the room to the other room. She knocked but no one answered.

Thinking he was asleep Rose opened the door gently and entered her bedroom.

She saw Arthur seated outside on the balcony. He seemed to be sleeping since he didn't move when she called his name.

Rose thinking he was ignoring her she decided to get her clothes and leave. After getting them all she walked out without looking back.

She went back to her room and changed. She came downstairs to the table to eat dinner.

"Isn't Arthur joining me?" she asked.

"He hasn't been himself since yesterday," Dorothy said.

Rose instructed the maid to take Arthur's dinner to the bedroom.

Rose had just begun to have hers when the maid came back down with Arthur's dinner.

"He didn't answer me when I knocked on the door," the maid said.

Rose put down her fork and got up from her seat.

She walked upstairs and opened the door to their bedroom. Arthur was still at the balcony.

She was wondering why he was ignoring everyone in the house including even her.

"Why are you acting this way to everyone?" She said.

Rose came closer to him, Arthur was laying down with his eyes closed. His face was pale.

Rose placed her hand on his forehead and felt his temperature. He was burning up.

She instantly sat down next to him and tried to take him up.

"Love, love, wake up " she called.

But Arthur didn't answer, she ran downstairs and got two bodyguards who came in and carried him to the bed.

"Careful, watch his head," Rose said as they placed him down onto the bed.

Dorothy calls the doctor, " Rose said as she closed the door to the room.

She got a towel and soaked it in cold water then used it to cool down his body temperature.

Arthur woke up as Rose was placing the cold towel on his chest.

"Butterfly, he said weakly.

Rose answered as she continued what she was doing.

" Am sorry I didn't take care of you when it's my first duty as your wife " Rose apologized.

Arthur wanted to say something but seemed too weak to say.

Rose felt more scared, Arthur was a strong man that even when he was shot he didn't act this way. But it was just a fever and he couldn't even speak.

The doctor came in, Rose moved aside and let him do his work.

"The fever is high but his emotionally weak too. The medicine will help but I suggest you talk to him after " the doctor said.

After the doctor left Rose helped Arthur take his medicine. But he seemed too weak to take it. Rose thought about it, Arthur couldn't talk so swallowing his medicine was also impossible.

She looked at him gaining and losing consciousness. He was out and in of it as he tried to say something to her but failed every time.

"How did you get this sick without me knowing," said Rose.

Dorothy watched Rose think of a way to feed her husband his drugs.

"I saw this in a drama once, the female lead got sick but couldn't take her medicine so the male lead did this " Rose told Dorothy as she got the medicine.

Dorothy watched her put it in her mouth then move closer to Arthur. She placed her lips on his then pushed the medicine into his mouth with her tongue then took the water and did the same.

Arthur moved as he swallowed it, Rose smiled feeling happy about feeding him drugs successfully.

She looked at Dorothy with a smile but Dorothy said, " you could have used your hand to push it into his mouth and a spoon for the water".

Rose frown as she took the tray of Arthur's food from her and pushed her out of the room.

"I think I need some time alone with my husband," She said as she closed the door at a half-smiling Dorothy.

She walked back to the bed where Arthur was laying.

She finished cleaning his body and changed his clothes then laid beside him. She played with his black eyebrows then his lashes going down to his nose her fingers traced his face down to his lips. She had missed being this close to him for a while.

He had changed her guards, after beating up her old one. Arthur had not known that Rose knew the secret room. She had seen then leave that night after he left. She had woken up only to find Arthur gone and her guard missing.

She went back to her room but it was then she saw then came out from the secret room from her balcony. She went downstairs to see them up close only to see their badly beaten faces and bodies.

She had tried to ask why they were like this when it was her fault for having asked them to leave her alone. They begged her not to say anything or it would be bad for them again. Rose was surprised to hear them talk about Arthur like he was a very scary person. She waited for him to talk about it but ye never did but instead avoided her until his wounds healed too. And without realizing it Rose had gotten angry at him and Arthur remained unfazed about her bodyguard's absence but got her new ones.

"When you wake up I will be here," she said.

She came close and peeked at his lips then laid down next to him and went to sleep.
