Warned.

Marie Claire was still in a daze by what she had seen happen. She was shocked to see how Sean's mother acted so differently from how she treated her.

"Was this her true nature?" she asked herself.

How could she hurt a fellow woman like that without blinking an eye? She saw her turn towards her with a smile this made get shiver all over.

This woman is dangerous, Marie Claire thought.

"Sweetheart, let's not mind such matters and go watch something, " Sean's mother said.

Marie grabbed her bag, " Maybe next time mother, I have things to do tomorrow so I will leave now " she said as she ran to the door.

Sean's father who had returned smirked at his wife's confused face.

"No one would want to stay with a person who hurts others and pretend it's alright," he said.

"What do you mean by that?" she turned around angrily.

"I mean to say that our son has announced that he would not return here ever again "

"That's a lie " she shouted at her husband. " My son can abandon us for a woman ".

Her husband turned back, " A woman he loves with all Of his heart, the same woman you just hurt right now in front of us all "

"I didn't mean to my hand just slipped " she denied.

Sean's father laughed with anger in his voice, " Your hand slipped, keep telling your self that. But know this you just lost your son today "

Sean called Arthur and asked him to come. He was still outside the room Irene was being treated when Arthur arrived.

"What happened to you?" Arthur asked sitting next to his friend.

Sean sighed, "It is my mother, she burnt Irene with hot tea," he said.

Arthur was stunned to hear what had happened.

"Is she okay?" he asked.

"The doctor said she will be fine," he said.

"Your mother is getting out of control," said Arthur.

Sean nodded.

"Am worried Rose isn't going to like this when she finds out " Arthur exclaimed.

"Can't we keep it a secret?" Sean asked. "You know she will find out sooner or later " Arthur chuckled.

Irene walked out her hand had been treated and the pain. had subdued.

Sean ran to her side, " Feeling better ?" he asked.

"Don't worry it wasn't too severe" Irene tried to smile.

Sean could see that she was still in pain.

He turned to the doctor who told him what to do then they departed.

"Arthur please don't tell Rose " Irene begged.

"I can't promise," he said back. He knew Rose hated secrets and this one involved her best friend. He would be stupid enough not to tell her.

"Just don't tell her anything for now until Irene gets better " Sean suggested.

"I think your forgetting Rose changed since the pregnancy happened , Arthur said.

Sean sighed thinking about how Rose had been acting. Her feelings or emotions seemed to be doubled which made her extremely dangerous when angry.

"I do remember" Sean rubbed his forehead " She threw at me a pen once after I objected to her idea in a meeting," he said.

"And that was before I told her to stay home since everyone was complaining about her mood swings " Arthur opened the car for Sean.

Sean helped Irene inside and closed it.

"Then I assume she will be at our house first thing in the morning " Sean growled

"Yeah," Arthur said walking away to his car.

And as Sean had expected Rose was on their door the next morning.

Sean opened the door letting her in. Her belly had grown and so did her bad temper.

"How could that crazy woman do that to you?" she yelled looking at her friend's hand.

"It's nothing serious, I will be fine " Irene smiled.

Holding the injured hand Rose sneered,

"Have you looked at your hand, it's so red and swollen " She turned to Sean with anger, " She might be your mother but she's an enemy now "

Sean moved away towards Arthur who had taken a seat.

"You couldn't keep your mouth shut?" he whispered.

Arthur nodded with a smile.

"Don't tell me you're enjoying it?" Sean cried out.

"I hate seeing Rose angry but your mother needs to be taught a lesson," he said.

"I don't know why she keeps hurting Irene even after I warned her," he said.

"I don't think we have ever understood your mother not even your father does, "said Arthur.

" She just doesn't get it that I love Irene no matter what she says "

"Not being to protect your woman is something unforgivable, I learned it the hard way," Arthur said. "I would not want to see you go through that too "

Before Sean could reply to Arthur they noticed Rose walk off.

"Butterfly where are you going?" Arthur asked her.

"To avenge my friend " she walked out of the door.

Arthur glanced at Sean and followed Rose.

"See you at work tomorrow," he said.

Sean stayed with Irene as they worried about what Rose would do to his mother.

Arthur didn't object when Rose told him to drive to Sean's parents' home.

"Should I accompany you inside?" he asked Rose when they arrived.

"Suit yourself " Rose didn't wait for Arthur to help her out of the car and walked to the door.

Sean's father was in the living room when he saw Rose walk in with Arthur behind her.

He knew why she had come since Sean had warned him about her when he called to tell him about Irene's condition.

"Morning father " she greeted Sean's dad.

"Rose," he exclaimed.

She took a seat and smiled.

"Where is mother, can I talk to her?" she went straight to the point.

He pointed to where Sean's mother was without delay.

Rose thanked him and walked off like it was her house.

Sean's father turned to Arthur, " Why don't you follow her " he said.

"I don't think my wife would like me too, "Arthur said.

" Is she always like that?" he asked.

Arthur chuckled, " No, just the times when she's angry "

Rose arrived at the terrace where Sean's mother was.

"Hello, mother " she announced her presence.

Sean's mother was astonished to see Rose in her home.

"Rose?!..."

Rose moved to where she was seating and joined her.

"I won't waste your time so I will say why am here"

Sean's mother knew why Rose had appeared. Remembering the previous encounters they had. Rose had warned her the last time not to hurt Irene.

She had forgotten about that when she acted with anger last night.

"You may think that you have a right to hurt my best friend... Rose moved closer to her " but you don't, not even a tiny bit of right " Sean's mother could feel the anger in her voice as she let out the words.

Panicking she moved back her chair.

"If it's about last night, it was an accident and I apologized "

Rose smiled but it didn't reach her eyes which depicted the anger she had.

"Being a mother to Sean doesn't give you the right to hurt the woman he loves, why can't you just lock your self in your crazy world and let your son enjoy his life" she barked.

"She doesn't deserve him " Sean's mother murmured.

"And who are you to decide that, your just his mother someone who raised and took care of him".

" And he's grateful for that but right now all he needs is your support, not your nonsense about how my friend doesn't deserve him ".

Sean's mother looked away from Rose's cold eyes.

"You're pushing away the only person in this world who loves you the most, all because of your ridiculous impressions of your perfect daughter in law " Rose felt her eyes tear up.

"You don't know anything about us and how we suffered to be who we are today that your sons fell for us completely " Rose cried.

She got up and looked down at the quiet woman before her.

"How could you hurt the woman your son loves and still call yourself a mother and a woman " Rose sneered

"To me your just an old hag with mental issues " Rose finished and walked away.

Arthur was chatting with Sean's father when he saw his wife return.

She walked past them toward the door.

Arthur got up saying his goodbye and rushed after Rose.

"Butterfly?" he called her. Rose stopped in front of the car.

Arthur ran to her and was surprised to see her crying.

"What wrong, butterfly?" he asked wiping away her tears with his warm hands.

"Am just so angry " she cried.

Arthur hugged her letting Rose cry out her anger.
