He laughed good–naturedly before his face turned grave. “ My behavior was inexcusable— I should have pre–scanned the area. I assure you, I will never make that mistake again.” He offered her a goblet. She took it and watched him fill it up. Leah swallowed it down quickly.

She had earlier debated whether or not to tell Talokta that he had indeed died in her arms, and she had, for lack of a better description, brought him back. Until she could understand the nature and extent of this extraordinary power, specifically bringing back the dead, and controlling it, let alone comprehend it, she would say nothing.
