She looked at her husband expectantly, waiting for him to do the courteous gesture.

He did not, so she took the initiative.

“Well, my husband, we have another reason to celebrate.” She looked, almost shyly at Kalvich, “there is no question that you must stay and share in the celebrations. I will not take no for an answer. We have so much to catch up, and some great entertainment is organized. Sidonio has said, well, nothing in depth about you. I’m sure we can make you reasonably comfortable, as we have plenty of room in this little shack of ours.”

The air became filled with more sweet music as she laughed once more but was cut down with another impatient look from Sidonio who remained sulkingly silent. He knew she was being her usual sweet self, but unwittingly that friendliness could so easily be misconstrued as flirtation, which he also quickly dismissed. For one thing it would be totally wasted on his chauvinistic, narcisstical brother.
