Cemel smirked, “Look what I give you back.”

“HA!—if she is alright! No old man, you are not in any position to bargain with me. Bring Leah back and only then will I stop the mortals suffering.”

They both glared at each other. Was this a stalemate?

Cemel knew Kalvich would never relinquish the Sword of Sorrows, whether Leah was with him or otherwise.

Kalvich knew it was imperative to get to Leah before Cemel did. The old man had tricks up his sleeve that could leave the Trimadian leader worse than back to square one.

The Sword was his ace.

He had to push Cemel harder.

“I repeat, no deal old man, no one blackmails me. Get me Leah or the worst will happen.”

To end all arguments, Kalvich extracted a small vial from his robe. He threw it to the old man who caught it.

“Keep this old man, as a reminder of who the boss is around here.”

“What is it?”
