Chapter 296: Lamb Amongst the Wolves Part 1

Leah was beside herself with nerves. Her only saving grace was knowing she would see Cemel again. She was miserable without Amy, who was more a dear friend than a servant. They would spend many hours talking and laughing.

Time had made Leah a different person now.

She had dressed in a figure hugging, simple ankle length gown of the Old World’s finest silks, in total black. To her it was less ostentatious than most of the formal dinner dresses she owned. She cleverly accessorized the dress with a silken gold wrap around her shoulders. She wore no jewellery, including the medallion, nothing to draw unwanted attention.

Last time she counted she had one hundred and twenty formal dresses and gowns, which was absurd. According to the rule of her kingdom you should never wear a dress twice. That was her mother’s rules.
