Chapter 299: Price Of Justification Part 1

When she came to, she thought she was blind until she realized the room was dark. A dim light filtered through as her focus returned.

“Well, well, welcome back to the land of the living.”

She jerked up, recogizing her enemy’s voice, fighting against the nauseating giddiness.

“What game do you want to play now my queen?”

Leah gasped as his mouth was right beside her ear.

He laughed.

Leah had mixed feelings about her present situation. She was glad it was Lord Teo and the fact she could still feel her sheathed knife still strapped to her thigh. However, this was not quite the confrontation she had in mind.

She wondered if he had searched her and knew of her weapon.

“Well queenie, let’s cut to the chase—you were staring at me all night—”

“What!” Leah replied indignantly, staring at him angrily. “I was woozey thanks to the wine and—”

“Yeah, and was it the pink or the green liquid Kalvich’s quack fed you?”

“Green!” she looked confused.
