Though Zoltan and his burly entourage almost dwarfed Dion, and most that were in the room, Dion showed absolutely no fear, in fact was too confident for comfort.

He knew very well how Kalvich wanted his high commander back.

Zoltan kept his voice steady, “My men may have refreshments but you and I need to talk—now.”

It was comical to the unwary observer as his group scanned the food and drink for any sign of a foreign agent that would be detrimental to their health. Everything was fine.

As the two leaders went to walk away, one of the Trimadian soldiers piped up. “Sire, you must have an escort.”

“Unnecessary, I will be back soon.”

Dion led his enemy to the far end of the room. As Dion gallantly gestured for Kalvich to step behind a huge red curtain, his youthful face lit up in excitement, risking one single thought—I don’t think so.
