It then dawned on her. She was not alone—humans were her allies. If she can beat the sword, then she was a formidable power against Kalvich. Was this Zakaroid’s big plan and she not only had to realize it, she had to use it against him when the time came.

She zoomed down to the Pellucid river, to the area she deemed her secret spot representing where she supposedly met Kalvich six thousand years earlier. Perhaps here—no one would spy on her. She closed her eyes, channelling her thoughts and concentrated.

“Hello again Edith, Harold.”

“Leah, I am surprised,” stated Edith looking around her. Why do you want to communicate with us, and why bring us to Kalvich’s gardens?”

“These are my gardens Edith. I know you know I gave the sword back to him, and you probably think I am the biggest fool alive but hear me out.”

“Most unwise Leah,” Harold ventured, “Kalvich could hear every word.”
