The next night, Talokta made an unannounced visit to the queen, taking her a bunch of Gerberas he had taken from her vast gardens.

“Lord Talokta, I have not seen you for so long, and thank you,” she took the flowers and laid them on a table, then gestured for him to sit with her. She seemed a little formal in her manners to him. It reminded him of when she first journeyed to Heliostronus. He guessed she was more or less back to normal, but luckily didn’t seem stressed to see him, nothing like what she was like months earlier.
