Remembering A Little of the Past

It was still in the middle of the day. The Sun was climbing down from its highest peak when ZhiYi half-forced MingYu to lie down on the bed and just rest. He had been too fidgety and distraught over his wandering thoughts that he had tried to drink tea straight from the pot.

"What is wrong with you today? Are you sure you didn't touch that maggot?" ZhiYi said as he tucked MingYu under the thin blanket and sat by the side of the bed, peering at him with concern.

"I'm just tired," MingYu mumbled, turning his face away to evade ZhiYi's gaze. There was an uncomfortable weight pulling at him on the inside. And he feared that any minute now, his heart would sink to the bottom of his stomach.

ZhiYi sighed as concern glided away from his dark eyes. "You have been waking up in the middle of the night, lately. It's normal to feel tired."

The bed creaked as ZhiYi stood up and shuffled around the room, before he finally took hold of AhXin's basket.
