Chapter 93: The Book Of Death

I stumbled down the stairs to the Book, looked down at the final entry and gasped, clutching my hand to my open mouth, stabbing pain jerking me around and throwing me through the realm's threshold and out the other side. Far too late, of course, to do anything to change the inevitability of Death. I'd lost that power when Chaos claimed me. But at least I could be there for the one I cared about when she needed me most.

I crashed through Death's dark, rose-scented threshold and into the Repository, feeling its agony even as the deaths occurred, the pain rippling through the fabric of the realm. Chaos shrieked her rage, her desire, her despair as she threw me at two limp, large bodies sprawled across the stone floor and the figure hovering over them.
