In the end it was Gabriel, Michael, and my former father, Samael, who joined me, Zeus, Odin and Jupiter in the repository. The other gods and goddesses wandered home, the Hindu Kali insisting on joining us, the elephant headed Ganesha lumbering along behind her.

I was surprised to find Ra had slipped himself among our number, though he stood in the corner of Tulip's office, as quiet and reserved as ever, the faintest of smiles on his lips.

Tulip seemed harried, stressed, though the Repository felt as relaxed and burbling joyful as ever. She squinted vaguely at Garnet, the pixie fluttering around her, muttering in her ears, while the head archivist of the Repository of Creation struggled to pull herself together and speak to us.

"Enough already." She snapped at the small, red winged assistant, whose anxious fluttering sent a cascade of red sparks to the floor.
