Chapter 162: Sacrifice

So much sorrow, loss unimaginable. I couldn't think about Kismet and her sacrifice, not yet. She'd gone willingly, that much was certain, had clear foreknowledge of her ending and had done only what she knew she had to, as we all could hope to, proudly, bravely, fearless and with the heart of a warrior. I would remember her forever and I would never let anyone else forget, either.

I wished I could stop, find the time to value what she'd done, honor her in thought and memory, create something good out of the gift she'd given me beyond handing over the spark she'd carried to Truth. She the most honest and forthright of all the foretelling powers, who I'd come to love and appreciate and trust even more than Destiny.
