Chapter 87

EXT. to INT. - SILVER CITY COLLEGE - EVENING

Silver City College sprawled over a couple of blocks on the outskirts of the center of town, brick and stone buildings officious enough to scream higher learning. Gerri left her car in the visitor's parking lot and crossed the darkening campus toward the anthropology building, hands shoved deep in her pockets.

It took a great deal of effort to keep from running, a growing sense of foreboding pushing her hard. She must have looked intimidating to send a pair of students scrambling out of her way, long, booted stride carrying her with haste not quite a run to the glass door of the building. It thudded open under the pressure of her hand, the sound of the metal against the jam cutting through her anxiety and helping her gain perspective.

Kinsey was fine. Kinsey was fine. Kinsey. Was. Fine.
