Chapter 46: The Other Side Of The Barrier

She gapes at the shift in reality on the other side of the barrier they've passed, swallowed by green and gold where once the blinding sun reflected off only dusty brown gray. She looks back the way they've come as the lander slows further, shifting into a soft tilt as it angles toward something glittering in the distance. There's a shimmering shield behind them, above them, filtering the outside so well the sun seems warm but kind, the air clean, the cleanest she's ever seen, even on her own Trash Heaven where the atmosphere hangs so thick with pollution it transforms sunrise and sunset into a million shades of color.
