Chapter 64: Holy Matrimony

Didi glares at her reflection in the plasglass of her room, hands clenched into fists at her sides. The frothing, heavy dress looks ridiculous on her short, slight frame, the skirt big enough to hide the gunslinger if she so needed. It bells out around her feet, still clad in her big, black boots.

Lilas dressed her personally, though Didi doesn't know how the cyborg woman managed to squeeze, pinch and prod her into the idiotic pile of white satin and lace when it was the last thing Didi wanted. How old fashioned it seems, this wedding gown like she's only seen in holovids. But, when it came down to it, sweating and protesting in a piercing voice, Didi managed to keep her boots and the goggles that frame her small face and press her sleek bangs over her scowling forehead.

"Over my dead, broken and bleeding body." Lilas must have taken it as truth because that stupid, wretched smile she always wore just deepened. But Didi kept her things.
