Chapter 78: Grandfather

Didi gapes at him, heart pounding harder yet, while disturbance behind him draws his attention. He turns, his tall, slim body far more lithe than his face suggests possible, the dark red robe he wears somehow formal despite what appears to be silky sleep clothes beneath.

She wasn't sure who to expect from Solomon Gont, but this kindly faced if now stern old man with the commanding voice wasn't it.

"Sir." She recognizes the face of the leader who storms into her grandfather's private bedroom, visible to her through the open door. What she takes in on the other side screams opulence but excellent taste, more deep red and gold blending into tall ceilings and lush carpeting, the corner of a bed just peeking around the edge of the entry. She's seen this man before, but it takes her a moment to realize where. Not from familiarity of meeting, but because he looks like her.

Didi's mind staggers under the weight of that truth as Solomon speaks.
