Instead of the landline, I reached for my cellphone, all the numbers I needed logged there.


My finger hovered over Crew's for a long moment as I thought about sharing what Dad's friend gave us while my heart clenched against talking to him.


   And how was I going to tell Emelia and Amos their son was murdered? Clearly that wasn't my job.
