Computer science professor Eric Gordon has to find the hacker responsible for a virus on campus. When his investigations show some sort of reptile may be living in the steam tunnels under campus, he turns to biology professor Lori Tremain for help. 

Lori’s life is crazy with her tenure review looming, but she’s too curious and way too attracted to turn down Eric’s request.  Together, Lori and Eric uncover things that their scientific minds can barely imagine, along with a passion they never expected.  She doesn’t have time for love or dragons, but adventure and romance find her anyway.

Dragon in the System

Lori was still playing it safe when it came to discussing their relationship, Eric decided. It came as no great surprise when she decided to change the subject. "Do you think my computer problem was caused by the WYRM virus?" 


Lori pursed her lips. "That's kind of odd, isn't it. I mean, my department has had almost no trouble with the virus at all, but just a few days after I help you look for lizards, my computer gets hit. Do you think it's just a coincidence?"


Eric paused between bites, pondering. "I don't see what else it could be. I mean, how would anyone even know you were helping me? The only person I told about you helping me is Dave, my officemate and he's certainly not the hacker we're looking for. If Dave had decided to hack for money, the first we'd hear about it is when he sent me a postcard from Rio. The WYRM hacker is good, but not in Dave's class." He took another bite, chewed thoughtfully. "Did you tell anybody?"
