Chapter 32: Search

There wasn't much we could do about the token or our now lack of direction. Considering there were only two roads as options, going back or going forward, we chose the obvious.

The corridor was short, leading us to another set of stairs. These were deeper and taller than the last, the stone more fitted, brick walls becoming almost polished. The air grew warmer as well, and light up ahead warned us we were entering a more populated area putting us at risk of being spotted.

Vasek took the lead, leaving Stella behind. I felt the whisper of his latent power and watched him waver and disappear. I knew he was there, understood he used what little magic he had access to as an illusion of invisibility, but it was still incredible and made me grin. I reminded myself to have him teach me how to do it. Imagine the fun I could have with my brothers Damon and Pharo, not to mention Sassafras.
